If you have nothing scheduled early in the morning, what time do you check out? The hotel check out is 11am.
We almost always ask for late check out.

If we have absolutely no plans, we check out right at checkout time, which seems to be around 11.

We usually request a late checkout, unless we need to catch a flight/head home early.

It depends.... If I wanna hang out in the room and even order room service for lunch or something, then ask for late check out. If I'm not gonna be in the room anyway; I'd check out and just ask them to hold my luggage.

As late as humanly possible, though I'm noticing fewer hotels are offering late checkout lately!

As late as possible unless we're catching a flight, etc. We are NOT morning people

Despite our best intentions to get up & get going each morning of a recent trip, we didn't manage to check out until 15-20 minutes after check out. Fortunately they didn't give us any grief at any of the 3 hotels we were at.

We usually check out early and if we have our car, either leave it there and go around town a bit more or drive around and do some more stuff before heading home.

We're up early so we usually go have breakfast and then come back, pack everything and check out. So maybe around 9:30ish? We don't like to hang around the hotel room for too long, DS goes stir crazy!

Usually sometime between 10 and 11. I have never requested a late check out and never will. I worked front desk at a hotel a few years ago, and it always threw off the housekeepers to have a bunch of late check outs.

Usually we ask for late check out just so we can get breakfast and come back and have a few minutes to finish things up.

I've never heard of late check out! Do most hotels do this? Do you have to pay extra?

@regberadaisy: You call the front desk. They don't usually charge you extra. One time was when we went to Vegas and they charged us. (We checked out of the room, walked around, were super tired so we asked them if we could have a room for the afternoon. They gave us a room from 12-4pm. It was the best money spent because, otherwise, we would have roamed Vegas (in 100 temps) until our flight. It was well worth it.)
About an hour or so before check out (you could ask about it when you check in), I call the front desk to ask. Usually they have to check. I think they have to make sure there aren't a ton of other late checkouts (make sure they have enough time to clean the room) or maybe check to see if the next person checking in didn't request early checkin.
Almost every time we ask, they extend it 30 to 60 min with no charge.

Before kids, we always requested late checkout if it was free. Now with DS, we usually just checkout when we leave for breakfast (if off property), or after returning from breakfast (if eating on property). So usually between 9-10.
