My LO typically goes down between 7 and 7:30 and wakes up by 6. She has been fighting sleep the past few nights and I am wondering if we should push bedtime back?
For reference, she takes 1 1 1/2-2 hr nap a day.

My LO used to go to bed at 6:30pm and wake up around 7:00am with a 2-3 hour nap. She's 18 months and over the past few weeks her bedtime has moved later to around 7:15 and she still gets up around 7:00. There have been a few few times this past week that she has slept in...i woke her up at 8:00 for the day so her nap won't be too late. She usually naps 2.5 hours but there have been a few times she has slept 3+ hours and I get up her up by 4:00 so her bedtime won't be too late. I think those were growth spurt days bc her usual schedule at 18 months is up aroun 7:00, nap around 1:00-3:30 and bedtime at 7:15/7:30...so about 11.5 hours night sleep and 2..5 hour of naptime...so 14 hours total sleep.

Thanks for the replies! It is so interesting to see the range in schedules and total sleep time!
@Mrs. Stroller: That is a lot of sleep! Must be nice...
@sandy: My LO has never taken a 3 hour nap ever in her whole life! I have no idea what I would do with all that time!
@artbee: How long does she nap?
I know my LO has never needed a ton of sleep but I am trying to adjust as she gets bigger...thanks!

Olive is 19 months. She goes to bed about 8pm. For most of her life she went to bed early, but now that she's older, it's hard to put her down early because she is having so much fun playing with Charlie.
We have to wake her up at 8:30 every morning, otherwise she will sleep past 9. She likes to sleep 13 hours at night.
Then she takes a 2 1/2 hour nap.
At 18 months Charlie's bedtime was 7:30. It was 7:30 until he was well past 2. Maybe she is just working on a big milestone?

My daughter is 20 months. She goes to bed around 8:30 and is up by 6, sometimes 5. Usually I can convince her to sleepily nurse for another hour after that, though not always. She naps for an hour or two midday.

At that age, she went to bed at 7 and woke up at 7... she took two 1.5 hour naps. So 12 hours of night sleep, and 15 hours total sleep.

@MamaCate: It was around that time that we pushed bedtime back a a bit. She now goes down around 7:30-8:15.

@MamaCate: about the same as your LO at that age, but my son was still on two naps.

@MamaCate: The nighttime sleep is definitely wonderful since it gives me time to myself in the evening. Now that we're meal planning that time is less consumed with making dinner too! He just recently started taking the longer naps during the day. For the longest time I'd get 45 minutes, tops...barely enough time to take a shower and get dressed!

Chloe is usually down for the night around 8pm, and takes a 2-3 hour nap once a day. Her nap time is around 2pm, but sometimes she'll nap around 1.
