@LovelyPlum: Us too. They had one good week of awesome naps and since then it's been chaos and praying they fall asleep in the middle of nursing so at least they get a little rest. Of course if I try to pull my nipples out of their mouths it is like wide awake ready to party time. Sigh. They've been asleep ten minutes on their nursing pillow and I'm afraid to even lean back and relax on the couch because I don't want to wake them!

@Dandelion: It definitely took work! And it only just recently became mostly predictable. I think she just had to get to the right age. And I worked for a month ish to get her to fall asleep on her own.

Who knows! Xander's 17 months and doesn't have a consistent nap-time!
He usually wakes up around 6:30/7:00. At home, we'll put him down for a nap after roughly 3 hours of awake time, but if his first nap is really long, then we'll skip the afternoon nap and just put him to bed early. And at daycare he usually only has one nap.
Bedtime is between 6:00 and 7:30.

@Dandelion: how's nap training going? What sort of training did you end up doing?
@abbydabbydoodlebug: hi-- what did you do for a month to work to get your LO to fall asleep on her own? This is my biggest problem.... Well that and he won't stay asleep!
blogger / pomegranate / 3044 posts
DS1 (basically 3) - wake 630-7, nap/play in bed - 1230, sleep - 8
DS2 (basically 1) - wake 6-630, nap1 830-9, nap2 1230, occasional bonus nap 330, sleep 7
I had to get the afternoon naps to line up since I was going crazy, they used to tag team me all day! DS1 only naps once every few days but he'll hang out in his room for a while.

my LO is almost 2, but has been on this schedule since we switched to one nap in the late Fall (last year).
she generally sleeps 6/630-630/7, naps 1030-1230 or 1, sometimes longer.

@BabyTsMom: it went fine for about 2 days and it went out the window. We had events come up and D started back at school, so now his afternoon nap is happening while waiting to pick D up in the car.
I was so structured about naps with D. But, I think me and M will have to go with the flow for now.
nectarine / 2636 posts
@BabyTsMom: Hi! What I did was to think of the drowsy but awake as a scale of 1-10 with 10 being completely asleep, and 1 being wide awake. So I'd rock her to a 9 and try to put her in her crib. And then if that didn't work, I'd scrap it until the next nap and try again. I kept doing that for a while until I could rock her to drowsy and put her down and pat her butt (she had learned to roll over by this point). Eventually, I had to let her cry for like 15 min to see if she could get herself to sleep. I inadvertantly let her cio because I needed a break because I was getting so frustrated and she fell asleep on her own after 15-17 min. That was a turning point for us and she got much easier to put down for naps.

L is 12 months but we have been on this schedule since 7 months. Unfortunately it's all about to go to the crapper next week when we start daycare and she has to be on one nap.....
7/7:30 wake Up
10:30-12:30 Nap
3:30-4:30 Nap
7:30 Bedtime
@swurlygurl: hey do you have different schedules because of daycare? Is it possible that I can keep two naps for awhile on the weekends? That would be amazing!

Noon. She wakes up at about 6.30am and goes to bed between 7.30pm and 8pm. She's 21 months.

10 months.
6:00am wake up
9:00am nap (approx. 1.5 hours)
1:30 nap (approx. 1 hour)
6pm bedtime.

@delight: Yep! But, L has always been a really great sleeper. She loooves her bed, and will request to go to sleep. So, I don't know that it's possible for all kids You could certainly try and hope for the best. I also find that she goes to bed later on Friday and Saturday nights, but wakes up at the same time, so she's more tired during the weekends and has less stimulation from other kids keeping her awake for longer stretches.

@swurlygurl: D was and still is like this. M is new territory for me. We're a sleeping family...he needs to get with it, lol
honeydew / 7091 posts
@Dandelion: Haha, oh no. I'm probably doomed with this next baby. I can't even believe how lucky I am that L loves sleeping so much! (She balances it off with a wicked temper, if anyone is getting jealous )
pomelo / 5326 posts
@swurlygurl: I think my DD could do that too, she's also a good sleeper. I feel so bad about her having to go to one nap so if I could keep our normal routine on the weekends that would be great. I'm glad to hear it worked for you! I'll report back in a few weeks!

LO is 2 months:
Wake up 5, move into our bed until around 6-7
Nap 8:30-10ish
Nap 11-1ish
Nap 2-4ish
Bedtime 8
We went through nap hell until I realized that he needed a nap almost as soon as he was done feeding in the morning, and messing with that nap would ruin the whole day!
