Just curious. We sat down to dinner at my IL's at 6:30. My family always did a lunch/middle of the day thing. Its pretty rough on us with our two LO's who are starting to melt down at that time!

Dinner is usually between 6-6:30. That is our usual dinner time at home anyhow so it works out fine.

@Amelieisme: We had our Good Friday fish fry at about 8pm (not usually that late, we had some technical difficulties). We had an Easter dinner with my side Saturday at 6pm and Easter Sunday dinner with my DHs side last night at 6:30pm.
That's normal for our families.

We do lunch for holidays because LO's bedtime is 7 so it's easier to do lunch. We had lunch yesterday around 11:30.

We do breakfast/brunch for Easter. It was at 10:30am. I love it that way, especially since I have work the next day.

We ate at 5:30. All holidays are more like a 1 or 2pm 'lunch' time in my family.

Around 1:30. E woke up from a nap at 1:45, so he was able to join us for a bit!

We ate around 2:00, which is generally a nice time, but a little rough for our toddler who usually eats around 11:30 and goes down for a nap at 12:30! But he was a champ about it!!

@Amelieisme: my ILs are the same with thanksgiving. Drives me crazy! We had brunch at 11 and dinner at 6:30.

We usually eat around 3 or 3:30 for all our family get togethers, it just works for us. And there are snacks like crackers/pickles/cheese/meat, fruit/veggies, cookies/dainties ect to tie us over.

2:30. In my family it's usually anywhere between 1-3 for the meal. I really dislike it now that we have kids since that is nap time in our house.

Sounds like most people do a little earlier. I wish we did this! Itd be so much easier. I work on Monday too so its hard to be out and not able to "get ready" for the week!

@Amelieisme: I find that a lot of our gatherings are on Sundays and with work on Monday, it sucks to not get home until 8:00! We often bail a little early, but the whole time-at-home part is often sacrified

@blackbird: I know. We actually do a weekly dinner at my IL's at around that time but holidays are even worse because of the added festivities (egg hunts, lots of dessert, etc). I just wish they would move it up a bit, say 5:00? Its the price we pay for having close family I guess (which I DO appreciate)

3:30 LOL we went to an easter egg hunt around noon and came home prepped and ate. we were starving since we didn't have lunch.

Last night was 5:30 at my grandmothers.
If it would have been at my parents it would have been really late, like 8:00. Dd would have gone to bed at 7 and just slept over though

Easter isn't a big deal for our families. My MIL called us yesterday at 7:45am and invited us over for an egg hunt and brunch at 10am!
We also hosted a bbq last night around 5.
