78H20 had a great phrase: "baby waterboarding." That's totally what Charlie thinks I'm doing when I try to rinse his shampoo out in the tub!! His squirming creates a self-fulfilling prophecy, as I end up actually waterboarding him a little bit almost every time!

I tried all the tricks people mentioned on the boards over the years: having Charlie tilt his head back, getting in the tub to hold him on my lap, wrapping him up with a towel like a little burrito so he doesn't squirm... but none of them worked! (Swimming goggles were a no-go too.)

Then one day, I randomly used a small tea kettle to pour the water... and found that it slowed the flow of water so much, that it pretty much never got in his eyes... even if he squirmed like crazy! Once he figured that out, then he totally relaxed and shampoos since then have been a breeze!

Just wish I had figured that one out before the whole baby waterboarding experience had gone on for almost 3 years!!
