I don't know if I'm missing something, or just dense, but wtf do you do with a pot/pan lid while you're cooking? Obviously, the idea is to leave it on the pot. But what about when you need to take it off for a couple minutes to turn, stir, add spices, etc? I can't just put it on my counter because they would get damaged. I try to put it on the counter upside down, but then I burn my hand.

Luckily (??) I usually have a stack of dirty dishes nearby that I can set it on, but not always, and I'm trying to be better about getting my dishes done. Is there like a lid holder or something I should have? A combo spoon rest/lid holder?

I feel like I'm missing something, because I'm always so confused about the logistics of this stupid hot lid...
