I'm at a loss. It'll be hot here and indoors/outdoors. Something easy and will serve at least 15-20!

Pulled Pork BBQ. Veggie Kabobs. Grilled stuff. Cold sides like Broccoli salad, pasta salad, potato salad. I would even go so far as to order the BBQ in from a restaurant and do the sides myself. Yummy cold drinks like lemonade, tea, water, alcohol if you want it.

My favorite apps to serve when it’s hot out:
Watermelon/feta/mint salad
“Mediterranean platter”: hummus, pita, olives, smoked nuts, stuffed grape leaves, etc.
Caprese salad
Cold pesto pasta salad (or other pasta salad)
Cold roasted veggies
Tray of sliced deli meats, selection of cheese, rolls/breads and toppings
Deviled eggs
Pickled/marinated veggies
Radishes with feta (and a bit of olive oil)
Shrimp and cocktail sauce
Cold already grilled shrimp (lemon/pepper and Cajun are my favorite spices)
Sliced fruit and yogurt dip

We had a house warming for 80 and had WAY too much food.
DH made pulled pork, baked beans, and little smokies in barbeque sauce and had them in crock pots. Then he made burgers and dogs on the grill.
We had several salads as sides. One tater tot based one (with sour cream, green onions, cheese), tomato cucumber and basil, and a mixed veggie one. He got individual bags of chips so there was a mix and we ended up with less waste.
We didn't make a single desert. We ended up with brownies, a cake, tons of cookies, and two edible arrangements that people brought.

@yoursilverlining: Do you have a good recipe for a watermelon/feta/mint salad? I've been craving that after having it at a restaurant recently and want to bring it to a BBQ this weekend. Sorry to threadjack!!!

My friend had a BBQ place deliver pulled pork, cole slaw, beans, etc.
@yoursilverlining: that all sounds perfect for a hot day!

I would serve pizza! An artisanal pizza buffet. You can display it using different height stands. For something fresh serve a nice leafy salad or crudite. For dessert serve cupcakes or dessert bars like brownies and lemon squares! To me, that feels fun and lowkey.

@MUI831: I like this one, but I ususally use fewer limes especially if they are super juicy ones. 3 is often just too much lime for me. http://toriavey.com/toris-kitchen/2011/06/watermelon-feta-salad-with-mint/
