"I Dont Wanna Miss a Thing" Aerosmith
I little edgy, a little rock and roll just like my dad
Other contenders that didnt make much sense were Walk like Egyptian and Rockin' Robin - Those songs have special memories tied to them

We danced to "When the Stars go Blue" by Tim McGraw. Not really a traditional father daughter dance song, but we both loved it.

I went extremely unconventional...Our song when I was a little girl was Werewolves of London by Warren Zevon. So I surprised my dad with that song for our first dance.
I have the fondest memories of him using a record player for that track while we danced around the living room, howling like wolves

Jimmy Buffet Little Miss Magic. It was something different, his only request was no country (which is what I normally listen too) so I went outside the box.

In My Daughter's Eyes by Martina McBride for my first wedding. DH and I didn't have a wedding.

We didn't have a dance. I love my dad dearly, but I am not a dancer and I don't like to be in that kind of situation where people are watching me. Just freaks me out. Although, I did make my entire nights soundtrack have a LOT of music that my parents listened to and certain songs that my dad loved.

It would have been Rocking with the Rhythm of the Rain by the Judds (he and my stepmom who passed away 15 years ago always danced to it in the kitchen - one of my happiest memories and a nice way to bring her to the wedding) if my dad had done it. He had a stroke a few years ago and felt really uncomfortable being in front of people. I was really disappointed at the time (he backed out the day of the wedding - he didn't walk me down the aisle either), but I've made my peace with it.

@BlueWolverine: aw. I'm sorry. Strokes are terrible things and they really change people.

Ours was "I loved her first" by Heartland! I get a bit teary every time I hear it now.

My dad doesn't care about music at all and is totally tone deaf, except he was obsessed with bob Dylan and still knows all the lyrics to all the songs he listened to on records back in the 60s and 70s. So I really wanted a Dylan song for our dance! Most aren't so appropriate at all, but "forever young" is perfect

Ours was Sweet Caroline by Neil Diamond. My dad is a huge Neil Diamond fan, plus my name is kinda in the title ;). DH and his mom came out for the 2nd half and they're big Red Sox fan, and that song is something they always play at the games. Everyone had a lot of fun with it, the whole play was singing along :).

Tiny Dancer by Elton John. I was a dancer most of my life and my dad loves EJ so it was just a fit, even though the message may be off.

Carpenters - Close to you
It was my mom's favorite song. I totally cried when I danced with my dad to it.

@lilyann: warren zevon!!!
Willow by Joan armatrading. Not a common pick I'm guessing, but we listened to so much Joan armatrading going up, it was perfect for us.

@yoursilverlining: I'd honestly never heard of someone else using it, which surprised me! I mean it was a single he released and not one of his more popular songs, but still. I love it!

Never Alone, by Lady Antebellum! It's beautiful. Not many people have heard of it.

@78h2o: We used that one, too!
We danced to "Walk With You" By Edwin McCain and there was not a dry eye in the place. The last verse talks about Dad meeting his daughter's baby and I was pregnant at the wedding. Waterworks everywhere by everyone!!

@mediagirl: How did I not know (remember?) that we used the same song? I must have at some point, right?

@bpcmarj: we have never talked about that!!
