Does time count as a splurge? I spent SO many hours stenciling her wall because that's how I always imagined her nursery (pink walls with gold stencil)

I splurged on a big overstuffed chair (can't find a picture right now) and LO1 hated to be rocked, so I'm hoping with #2 it gets more use because it's so comfy!

Stokke Sleepi. I found it on Craigslist for $300 so the mattress is almost as much as the crib. We have to move this year (~600 sq ft isn't cutting it) so we're using old mismatched dressers and can't do a glider yet. I hate how the room looks now, but I'm excited about the Sleepi in whatever space we set up next.

@lamariniere: So glad we found on CL, they are way too much money new!

@LulaBee: my only regret is that I didn't find the classic crib with the toddler conversion kit.

Our 1 splurge was our glider. Which turned into a nightmare with the store we bought it from, so we didn't even get the darn thing until my LO was 3-4 months old. And then we got it for free....but not worth the very long hassle. I posted about it here on HB so many times!

It's this chair in a different color. http://www.lussobaby.ca/Dutailier-Fogo-Upholstered-Espresso-Chair-in-Snow-180101-79-3138-XX.htm

For our first nothing. For our second it was a rocker/recliner. I am keeping that thing for.ev.er. (Not because it was that expensive, just because it is so comfortable).

No splurges for the nursery exactly...we were given a hand me down glider (which is super comfortable!!) and the other furniture was inexpensive. Everything else was DIY by me. Our biggest baby splurges were our stroller (worth every penny) and the A&A dream blanket which we didnt get until lo was 4 months, so it doesnt really count with what you were asking for.

This time we are reusing almost everything (including the dream blanket) from lo 1, but i am hoping to splurge on some girly bamboo AA swaddles since most of her stuff will be neutral and used.

Nothing really... We were gifted the crib and change table, rocker was by grandpas passed down to me, bought an ikea dresser and closet organizer. Our splurge was a doula and a really good stroller

@IRunForFun: until she was about 6 months old. We switched to co-sleeping at night after a few weeks, but LO took naps in there (and fit in there) until she was 6 months old.

We now use it as a toy chest, so it will have a long life. It's really lovely in real life!!!

I don't know why but I was drawn to a whale theme for our baby nook as soon as we found out it was a boy. Everything came together reasonably and we were gifted a lot of things and I'm generally super practical but I saw this pillow at Land of Nod and had to have it. $28 for a pillow I can't use in the crib seemed ridiculous but DH was in the Coast Guard and we had a blue white and red color scheme anyway so I got it for DH as a baby present and incorporated into our baby's newborn photos.

Ours is a toddler room, not a nursery but our biggest splurge will be this touch screen monitor/computer that DH is obsessed with him having. It's like the only thing he's asked to include.

For DS#2, I splurged on a grey crib (Babyletto Hudson), a mobile (Alison show) and a vintage dresser (this pic doesn't show the whole thing though).

Nothing, but if I have another I want to splurge on a decent glider because we bought a $120 one on amazon as it was the cheapest I could find and it gives me pressure sores when I have to sit on it for hours nursing my daughter to sleep!

@Arden: Sugarboo Designs, the best price for it that I have seen so far is $280 through Wayfair. That includes the frame.

All the big items were bought at a retail auction or gifted to us, and none of that was really pricey- the biggest splurge item for us was definitely her name above the crib. It ended up costing 120 dollars, which was way more than we wanted to spend, but it makes the room and even at 3 months she loves to stare at them.
