What was your push present?

I told DH that I want this beautiful necklace I found that's a tree, with spaces to add birth stones like leaves for each new child. So he can buy it for me for an anniversary present, and then buy me a new stone for each push present.

My children are my push present. I have many material things and I almost would be offended if he gave me one for giving birth to my child. I guess because he is always giving me jewelry and flowers and things it would seem empty to me.

Then again I don't push so maybe that's why

Nothing, unless you count him helping a lot with the baby while I recovered post c-section.

I don't think I'll get a "push present" per se, but my birthday is a few months later and I am jonesing for some diamond stud earrings. I think a combined bday gift/push present sounds like a great idea : )

Heck yeah! Since he is coming so close to Christmas and my 30th birthday I'm angling for a new laptop to combine all three events... but as a little trinket, something from here: http://www.thevintagepearl.com/
    with his name on it.

My husband just found out what a push present was a couple of days ago. He rolled his eyes and said no, haha. So if I do get a push present I will be really surprised.

I knew my husband had no idea what a push present was. I figured if I had to tell him it just wasn't the same.

My husband bought me a necklace from Tiffany's with my LO's initial. It was exciting to see the little blue box but it turned out that the necklace didn't fit around my neck because of all of the fluids I had had. : )

    @ecogirl: Aww.

I won't get one because I never heard of it before about a year ago, and I would never be able to explain it to my husband.

Hello everyone! Our little Grayson arrived two weeks ago and we just could not be happier. Little Liam is a bit unhappy with the whole idea haha but we will work on that. I did not get a push present which I did not want anyway. We did get Liam a gift though to soothe his grumpiness.

@ecogirl: Aww I have a nephew named Grayson! Love the name!

And I didn't get a "push present" because my children were my present.

Crisark that is how I feel about push presents too! Good for any girl getting them though

Yoursilverlining Thank you! How funny we could have the same name. Will you also be having a girl? I know the name is a bit unisex. Have you done your massages?

@ecogirl: Yup, we’re having a girl. I had never heard the name Grayson before, and it’s the name of the town where most of my mom’s family originally comes from, so we sort of liked it for that. I also like unisex names for girls, and I think Gray is such a cute nickname.

And yes, I did get 1 massage – so heavenly! Actually going this Saturday for a “mellow mama” spa package – foot soak, pedicure, mani and hour massage…can’t wait!

We're going with something that I can hand onto each child when they hit 18/21. So probably rings or something.
Obviously the baby is the point of the exercise, and it's own reward, but at the end of the day my body ceased being entirely mine 6 months ago, gets further and further from normal every day for the next 3 months, and if breast feeding works out properly, still won't be fully mine for another 6 months after that! That's 15 months, of no wine, no hair dye, no comfy sleep... It's not that you need to be 'paid' a gift for having babies, but it's a little treat to acknowledge that you are doing something big and special and damn difficult for your hubby/family.
