Gcb just had a gone with the wind themed vow renewal. It was pretty over the top, but if your doing a theme do it up right?!
I didn't have a real theme. It was spring colors, garden, flowers etc. And I used a lot of vintage /antique things. Family jewelry, I carried dhs family Bible that everyone signs when they marry, our grandpas tallit were used for the chuppah, our table numbers were parents, grandparents, great grandparents wedding pictures, etc.

I think a theme'd wedding would be a lot of fun, but not something a lot of people do!

@chopsuey119: @Jennimac: my wedding should have been winter Wonderland. It was all outside and freezing! It was oddly cold for that time of year. My spring wedding didn't fit the weather!

It was pretty cool. It ended up being a 70 degree day in January, then there was a snow storm the next weekend. My favorite part was in the reception where we had red uplights and then these bamboo gels that projected a bamboo forest on the wall. LOVED IT.

Um, I'm one of those where the theme was "wedding." We had traditional ceremony music because sure it's done at a lot of weddings, but only one of those is our wedding! We had a color theme and that combined with the garden location could have made a theme though I don't know what I'd call it! We incorporated our cultures here and there, and that was it! I think we would have had a theme but I can never make up my mind! Even with the upcoming nursery plans, I don't want a themed nursery because the second I make a decision I'll just start the process of second guessing myself.

I told my mom that the theme of the reception was going to be "F". Our last name begins with an "F" and I joked that I was going to be like, "F this and F that since that's my new name...F everything." She didn't think it was that funny.

@jennimac: ha ha! F this. I laughed out loud imagining that conversation with my mother. She'd die.
We didn't have a theme, per se, but everything sort of revolved around peacock feathers. Our colors were inspired by them (navy, green, brown), and we had peacock feathers on our invitations and in our florals. But was it our theme? I wouldn't say so.

We didn't have a theme. We had an outdoor wedding in April and our colors were blue and green. I guess you could say the theme was spring.

We had a spring bird theme. On each of the tables were mini bird cages with ceramic birds inside, sitting on moss and babies breath.
Our recessional song was "Come Fly With Me" by Michael Buble

It was a simple but elegant beach theme. The colors were orange and blue and our tablecloths looked like shimmery water. I loved it.

We didn’t have a theme really – more just “get married and celebrate with family”. It was held on an island off the coast of Maine and everyone took the ferry out, but it wasn’t a beach wedding. We did have some seashells in the centerpiece vases though, and on the escort cards (lots of DIY). It was formal, and focused a lot on food and drink since that’s one of our main passions. Totally nonreligious (obv, as we’re atheists), and was so much fun!

@googly-eyes: I think color schemes can be wedding themes. I think that's way more common then picking an actual theme. What were your colors? Your wedding sounds beautiful- I really wanted ours in a garden but couldn't find anything I loved in our price range. I settled for the courtyard at a b&b.

@mediagirl: Boo orange and blue! Sorry, those are the colors of my rival football team. But I do love beach weddings. I didn't want one because that's what my brother did and I wanted our wedding to be different.

All of your weddings sound lovely! I don't know if we had a theme necessarily but I would call it vintage rustic-chic. We had the ceremony outside at a lake and then the reception was inside the hotel which had tasteful rustic decor. The colors were navy, light pink, and white/ivory.

Our theme was basically our colors (champagne and burgundy). We also put a bit of a musical theme into the reception tables because we met singing acappella... we had chocolate pitch pipes and the table numbers were musical notes (C, C#, Bb, etc). I stamped the placecards and table numbers with musical notes in champagne.

@mediagirl: hehe yeah they were a last minute addition... they were AWESOME and life-size, so cute!! the company that made them went out of business 
sigh. Oh, our reception hall also went out of business and the building is now a church. So sad!

I suppose our theme was Blue, Spring, and... Nerdy. I'm an engineer and DH is a science teacher so we threw in touches where ever we could.
Our seating chart was a Periodic Table, our cake topper was robots, and our favors were test tubes with cork tops!
Also, my dad's gift to DH was a tie tac that was a working miniature slide rule - it was my grandpa's.

Our theme was more peacock colors than peacocks, although we had a few of those, too (invitations and cake - which was ah-may-zing).

Ours wasn't themed, but it did have a soft vintage vibe. Colors were plum and gold.

We just had our colours! I guess in hindsight we were after 'relaxed elegance', which is what we got!
