I had a dating ultrasound at 8 weeks due to a previous miscarriage, an (optional, but insurance-covered) NT scan at 12 weeks and an anatomy scan at 21 weeks.

I had a dating ultrasound at 6 weeks, NT at 12, optional gender scan at 16, anatomy scan at 19 weeks and I had one last week at 35 week to check the size of my baby since I have GD.

I typically have 4- one for dating at my first appointment (anywhere from 6-8 weeks), one for the NT scan, one around 20 weeks, and one last one around 33-35 weeks.
But there's an ultrasound machine just in my regular OBs office so I usually end up having one or two more if I'm having issues or they want to check something out. I'm 12 weeks, and so far I've had 3 already.

I had the NT at 11 weeks and the anatomy scan at 19 or so. Don't know of any for the rest of the pregnancy!

I had a dating scan at nine weeks, an anatomy scan at 22 weeks (delayed as DH was overseas) and a third scan to check baby's position at 36 weeks (she'd flipped breech). We opted out of the NT scan at twelve weeks.

@deerylou: I'm in NZ but they don't usually offer another scan after the twenty week scan unless there is a medical reason or any cause for concern.

dating scan: 8w4d
nt scan: 13w
gender scan: 17w5d

Nothing after that because I always sized correctly and he wasn't breech, so she let me go.

I live in canada too -- for my first LO I went to the 14 week dating ultrasound (it was kind of underwhelming... over in a few minutes and the tech didn't say much -- and i had to pee sooooo bad!), and also the 20 week ultrasound (which was at the hospital, was a lot longer and more comfortable, and we could see lots of the baby!).

for this current pregnancy, i opted out of the 14 week dating scan (too lazy because having a 8-9 month old + morning sickness made me not want to go to any elective appointments!), and i'm looking forward to the 20 week scan in a few weeks!

my family doctor doesn't do deliveries, otherwise i would keep seeing her, instead, she forwarded me to an ob (the first time), and this time a midwife practice to monitor the pregnancy.

I believe in canada it is standard to just have those two ultrasounds -- unless there are complications, then your ob will order more :). I know you can pay for extra ultrasounds, too, if you like!

In Ontario (Ottawa) I was sent for my IPS Ultrasound at 12 weeks and then the second Ultrasound/Anatomy Scan at 19 weeks. I'm also followed by my GP (by choice) on a monthly basis until 28 weeks, when he will pass me over to an OB for the rest of my pregnancy. He said it was unlikely that she would send me for another U/S unless I developed some sort of complication.

@Mrs. Champagne: It's my understanding that they will do dating U/S if you are unsure of you date of conception...

I had a scan at 7 weeks because of a mc three months prior. Then they brought me back at 9w just to make sure things were still progressing. Since then I had my NT at 12wand anatomy at 20w. I think that's all I will have!

I'm in MB and the 20 week scan is the norm, but I had an extra one because they weren't sure of my dates. I'm still with my GP (at 20 weeks) and I haven't gotten any real info of when I'm being moved to the OB. I know it's in the works and I know that it varies from GP to GP.

@Grace: I am still with my GP too at 21w. He doesn't tend to send his patients to the OB until 32 weeks if everything is going fine. I got to pick which OB I want though which is nice since a bunch of my GFs recommended the same one.

Yep, I'm in Ontario and the only standard u/s is the 19/20 week anatomy scan. The NT scan is elective (but still covered) and any other u/s are ordered only if necessary (for example, I had one at 36 weeks to confirm baby was no longer breech) but aren't standard.

I had a dating scan at 6 weeks only because I have long cycles and they wanted to know exactly how far along I was. The NT scan at 13 weeks was optional and paid for out of pocket by us, and then the 20 week, which is the only standard u/s given here unless there are other issues.

I'm in Ontario and had five. First at 12w NT scan, 20 weeks anatomy, 22 weeks because of poor positioning during the 20 week, 33weeks because I was measuring 37....and an elective out-of-pocket 3D ultrasound.

I only had one... in fact my midwife practice normally recommends forgoing any at all but I wanted the gender/anatomy scan

I am of the mindset that unnecessary radiation from ultrasounds isn't particularly healthy for a fetus so less intervention is best IMO! But I still couldn't help but have one just to make sure it was all okay

I voted 4, but I think it was 5. Internal one around 7 weeks. One at 12-13 weeks for NT scan. Anatomy scan about 20 weeks. That would have been it, but when we suspected she was breech near the end, I got another at 37 weeks. Then they discovered my fluid was low, so I had another a week later. Then I had a baby

I had like 4 or 5 - three In the first tri bc I was having unexplained bleeding and one at 20 wks and I think I had another around the end of the second tri.
