There are some B&Bs upstate... it'd be fun to drive up there and spend a three day weekend with the kids. Especially if there's snow - I think the kids would love to spend a lot of time playing in the snow!
What would be your ideal weekend getaway with the kids?

DH and I were talking about taking a cruise in 1.5 years, J would be 3 so I think it would be a fun age for him to enjoy it but also old enough to do some of the kid activities like day camp for an hour or two so DH and I could be together too.
For something more low-key we'd love to go camping or go to a few local towns and just explore.

I'd really like to go to Yosemite for snowshoeing or Big Sur for a weekend at the beach! LO is only 4 months so I feel like she's pretty portable.

Anywhere really! LO is a great flyer and traveler so we getaway wherever we can. She is fascinated by so much that any museum is great, anything new, involving animals of any kind, etc. we're pretty open to any and all traveling, even if just for a weekend.

Disneyland! actually, that is an almost any day trip. We had fun going to the snow last year so that could be fun again. Only a few hours north. Or to the coast. Or San Diego. I love San Diego.

After spending 2 nights at the ILs over Christmas, my answer would be nowhere. If it's just a weekend, I'd rather say home. It takes LO sometime to get used to her surroundings and holy moly, I do not want to spend the night anywhere else for awhile!
A week would be worth it though. Somewhere close with better weather wins anywhere far that's warm.

We really want to go to Costa Rica with the kids, but we are waiting for the girls to be older.

We are homebodies, but I think once our youngest is 4-5 years old (making our older one 7-8 years old) we will love to travel!! Maybe an all-inclusive, family friendly resort that has a day camp option for the kids.
