A girlfriend of mine just had her first and is feeling so defeated right about now. I went on a rant about how she's doing her absolute BEST and that's all she can do.
It got me to thinking how I wish what I knew then. Here I am two kids later, and I wish after having my first I was able to know how quickly I would surpass the stress and how I was the best mom I could be.
If my present self could tell my past self something if would, don't kill yourself trying to breastfeed, don't feel the need to be perfect and have the house clean and everything together. You are the best mommy you could be and your baby is going to love you even if you've been rocking the same bun for three days! and the top thing I would say...ASK FOR HELP!!! Doesn't make you weak, it makes you wise!!!
That would have been a good reminder during the early days. When all your baby knows is you and you are doing a bang up job since there is no one your baby can compare you to. With that being said my last piece of advice would be get off the phone. When you have a moment to rest close your eyes, state at your beautiful baby, but don't let the screen suck your energy and envy.
I think mainly that compared to the diet I followed for a long time giving up dairy and major sources of soy would not feel like too big of a deal. But I won't be doing the extreme crazy diet I did last time, no way Jose.
