So LO is 11 months old and a good sleeper. He started sttn on his own at 5 months, but we did sleep train for going to bed around 4 months. Since then, we have established solid routines for naps and bedtime. He gets placed in his crib "drowsy but awake" most of the time. Some days, he fights it more so we end up holding him until he gets drowsy, or is practically asleep before we set him down. The holding part of our routine can take 2-20 minutes, depending on his mood I guess.

We don't mind continuing this, but A) He's getting heavy! and B) I can't imagine it working on a more aware, verbal one-year-old/toddler.

Is sleep training (again) in our future? Are you moms of toddlers actually able to plop your kids into their cribs and leave them, wide awake? If so, how did you get to that point?
