Just for fun 
Is football Sunday a big deal in your house? Who do you guys root for? Same team? Different teams? Rivals?
It's not as big a deal in our house as it once was now that we have a very active toddler! We root for different teams, not rivals though! DH's team isn't local and is never on tv and we don't go to the sports bars anymore, so it isn't much fun for him these days! I keep telling him to upgrade the cable but he hasn't.

Football sunday in my house is annoying to me. Similar to football Mondays, and football Thursdays. I'm not that into football but don't mind the occasional game.
My husband likes to take our (shared) lap top and watch one game, while hogging the (shared and only) tv to watch another game. 3 days a week.

DH only casually watches. We used to watch a lot more when we were in a football pool. I used to care when money was riding on it, but now I have absolutely no interest. There's no way I want to spend my Sunday glued to a tv with football on. Ugh. Sometimes when the Pats play Monday night football he'll stay up late to watch the game.

We both root for our hometown team, the Ravens. My husband also roots for the Pats. We usually make a delicious football meal and eat it during naptime. Hehehehehe....

I love football! I root for the Colts and DH is a Falcons fan so no rivalry there. But we both love football! We do a fantasy league with a bunch of family members too. And we follow our college team (Georgia Tech) too. This is the first year that we haven't gotten season tickets.

Steeler Sunday used to be a much bigger deal before kids. Someone always had a party with tons of food. Now it's just us at home & some spinach dip!

Professional football is serious business in our house. I'm a huge Chargers fan and my husband is a Patriots fan. Lots of trash talking occurs. Even my mother-in-law gets in on it. If you didn't know we have a great relationship, you'd think we hate each other. My husband swears at the TV and makes all kinds of noise when plays fall apart. It's comical. I'm much more mellow. He also does fantasy football so he's constantly checking his scores and sending trashing talking texts to his friends.

We're both Patriots fans, but our local TV doesn't typically show those games. In any case, I'd murder my husband if he spent hours each Sunday watching football. We just don't have time for that.

@Anagram: I used to love football when DH only watched our local team. Now every Sunday, Monday & Thursday he watch the hours or ESPN with all those stupid guys talking about the same crap over & over again plus he has started watching teams that we don't even care about! & he doesn't even play fantasy football or anything, he just does it to do it. It drives me crazy.

We have different teams, but root for one another's team as they rarely play one another (Bears and Broncos). We're in two fantasy football leagues, and watch other teams even when ours aren't playing. I'd say we're a football family through and through!

Dh watches every game while checking fantasy football lol. He's always been really into football so it doesn't bother me at all. He watches Saturday football too but if we have stuff going on then he's fine without it. He also wakes up early and cooks a big Sunday dinner every week and he get's our LO into the games and still helps out with her. I'm not really into football but will watch the Pats game, but it's turned into a fall tradition that makes him happy and I actually enjoy it too.

We go out of our way to watch the Seahawks, Colts and Broncos. But we watch football all day Sundays regardless of the team unless it's a blowout. We also watch on Mondays and Thursdays. Not sure how that will change when LO comes next year.

We don't have cable or local channels, so we have NFL Rewind on our computer. We can play any game either full broadcast, condensed, or coaches' view. And we can wait until E is in bed. We watch condensed, which means we can watch 3 games in less than 90 minutes. It's magical. (We both like to watch football, but no real loyalty. DH would always secretly like the Brownies to win. )

We watch baseball, hockey, and college sports much more. We have a few teams to root for and my husband's fantasy players, but really I'm not into NFL all that much. I like to come and go and get things done while the games are on. If he's going to watch football, he also has to watch the kiddos, so win for me!

Football Sunday is quiet at my house. Mr. Lime's favorite sport is football, but he doesn't watch it unless one of his absolute favorite teams plays. Even then, I wonder when he actually watches it because I'm never impacted by the game being on.

Since LO isn't home yet, we still go to the bar with our friends to watch the game. Then we watch NFL red zone and yell about our fantasy teams. When LO is home there will be a lot less going to the bar and a lot more watching from our couch.

Football Sunday is all about NFL redzone, aka football on steroids. I like football and love the Giants (as does DH), but I find redzone over the top. Clearly it doesn't matter.

DH roots for the Patriots and whoever will get him the most fantasy points. I try to keep my eye rolling to a minimum because I hate football and resent that it exists
Before LO DH basically holed up and watched pre-game coverage then redzone then the night game and was unavailable from about 12-11:30pm every sunday while I did my own thing. This season is new-ish but it seems that now he mostly watches the 1pm games (so 1-4ish) and then only watches the later stuff when I'm upstairs dealing with the baby.

We are both fans of the same team (UGA), but it's a college team, so Saturdays are more important at our house. On Sundays, he watches NFL games to keep up with his fantasy leagues - he has 3 or 4, and I try to find something else to do.

We haven't really been able to enjoy one this year yet but we both root for the Pats and usually make some sort of "football food" (chili, nachos, rotel dip). I love football Sunday.
