You all are so darn organized. I want to meal plan but each week I plan to I find it exhausting
During my grocery store outings I buy a bunch of produce [we buy our meat / fish from Costco] and then based on the weather and how the day went I decide what I'll be making.
Example: today its rainy humid and kinda gross so I'll be making a center cut pork tenderloin [marinaded in my own teriyaki type marinade] w/ cauliflower and brown rice. Tomorrow I'll be making salmon w/ polenta and spinach bc thats what I had planned for today. Thursday I'll probably do chicken and some Asian inspired salad cause I am currently obsessed w/ Miso dressing and Mayo Sriracha! Friday, who knows maybe left overs!?!?
Do you have a go-to for meal planning recipes?

@filly: I use http://www.tastespotting.com. My old co-workers used to tease me that it was my food "porn" website. It's amazing though, and so easy to search for by cut of meat or ingredient for a recipe!

Last night we had:
Bacon-wrapped halibut with grilled asparagus with a lemon aioli.
Tonight:
Carnitas tacos with avocado and spicy cabbage slaw. Maybe black beans or pinto beans on the side.
Not sure for the rest of the week. Ideas: grilled chicken Caesar salad; burrito bowls (minus the shell/chips), spicy lettuce wraps, grilled salmon and a baby kale salad with red onion, feta and avocado.
We’re having leftover Mexican meatball soup this week for lunches and/or Paleo meatballs with spaghetti sauce and marinara sauce.

Yesterday was skinnytaste light tuna noodle casserole and we ate the whole thing! (Usually each meal gives us at least two nights of dinner plus a lunch or two!) tonight was skinnytaste broccoli mac and cheese modified with cauliflower to disguise the veggies (my kids still found them). Probably Thursday I will make the crock pot broccoli beef that Ms. Paintbrush posted on the HB blog. I've done that before and it's delicious! That should get is through the week although I have some hotdogs and ingredients for skinnytaste zucchini tots just in case!

@bpcmarj what is the thanksgiving in a crock pot... you got me curious?
If you have kids, it might be nice to hear how they ate the meals that you served to them, I always find it’s challenging to get my older one to eat what’s on her plate, she can be so picky, while my younger one is a more willing eater but she has her limitations too of what she won’t eat.
-Sunday: pan fried halibut, sautéed potatoes and green beans.
The kids ate the fish sparingly, gobbled down the potatoes and green beans.
-Monday: pressure cooker sweet & sour chicken, brown & white rice, hiyayakko (tofu w/soy dressing), stir fried pea sprouts w/garlic. The younger one ate up all her chicken, rice, and most of the tofu, and I gave her green beans instead since the pea sprouts are a little too stringy for her; the older one ate a little of everything, like 1 bite of each thing.
-Tuesday: creamy bowtie pasta with chicken, peas and carrots (this was from leftovers a month ago that we froze vacuum sealed meal, and boiled in the bag for 10 minutes). Both kids gobbled down the pasta, the younger one picked out all the peas, the older one ate it all.
-Wednesday: take out Afghan food—(borani) roasted eggplant w/yogurt and garlic and dipping bread, (bolani) flatbread filled with potatoes, leeks, and yogurt to dip, (sabzi challow) lamb shank and spinach. The older one ate some of the eggplant, and some of the lamb shank and spinach, she said the flatbread was too spicy for her (it did have some spice), and the younger one ate everything and another helping (she’s generally a hearty eater) even the spicy flatbread
-Thursday: Asian sesame noodles, potstickers, pan fried chicken sausage, sautéed baby bok choy. I already know the noodles, potstickers will go well for both and they’ll eat, and the older one will eat the sausage and some of the bok choy; the younger one will maybe eat some of the sausage and she might eat the bok choy
Friday: slow cooker Swedish meatballs, broccoli
Saturday: tbd…
