We've had a lot of posts about what we are getting for other people but I'm wondering what you are hoping to receive. It could be things you know you'll be getting, things you hope someone will get, or things that are completely unlikely but you dream about getting.
Figure it's always helpful to get ideas from others!

I really want a red zip-up hoodie. I know that seems like such a small easy thing but I can't find one anywhere! I currently have the perfect red cashmere zip-up hoodie that I got from, I think, J Crew years ago, and I wore it so much I wore through the elbows. It doesn't need to be cashmere, I'd be happy with just a sweatshirt, but something plain, fitted, and in the same cherry red.
I also kind of want an upgrade to my Apple watch.

@erinbaderin: sometimes it's those easy sounding clothing items that are the most challenging to find! When you have the perfect vision for it nothing seems to match up! I hope you find one you love!

I honestly have no idea! I'm going to get this question soon and I truly don't know how to answer it. I'm not a big "stuff" person in general - all I need is unlimited access to books and I'm happy - but it's especially challenging this year because what I really love are experiences and the ability to spend time as I want to and that's really impossible for a long while still. I'd also love to do home renovations and channel money into projects like that rather than things, but again, not feasible for a while still. So I'm stumped. And my husband is really similar, actually, so we usually just try not to get each other stuff except something small to open with our daughter Christmas morning, so I'm worried this year might be a little anticlimactic.

@Mrs. Carrot: I understand the not wanting stuff issue. We have spent the last six months purging our house of stuff (and we didn't have a lot of extra stuff to start). So I don't want to add a lot more randomness. It took me the last few months to come up with my list. But I know a few people really insist on giving a physical gift and if I don't have a list they will buy all sorts of random stuff.
Normally we ask for passes to places or tickets to shows, as well. But since that's off the table it's much harder.
Maybe try to look for things around your house that need to be replaced or upgraded. Then you can trade things out rather than add more things to your house? Or, if gift cards are okay, gift cards to random small bookstores - help support small businesses and feed your love of books.

@erinbaderin: my Clarisonic died over the summer and I was planning on replacing it when there was a sale. But then I found the Luna mini and I loved the idea of not buying the brush heads. I snagged one on prime day for DH to give to me

@ElbieKay: yup, right there with you, on the kitchen (and a master bath, and a carpet replace in the living room), and also on travel. I was planning a 40th birthday road trip for myself (coming up in March 2021) and now that's not very likely so once travel is a thing again, I am seriously leaving for a month lol

I have on my list some leather apple watch bands, a 32 oz ironflask, frying pans, luggage, nice cutting knife, and a new ByYourBed comforter.
And then some small makeup items and a Hobby Lobby gift card.
@ilovepie: spider plants are super easy if you don't have one yet, and philodendron. I have kind-of become the crazy plant lady but they're all easy-to-grow plants because I suck at watering them, lol.

I need to upgrade my baking pans and baking sheets. My 9x9 pans started to rust so they needed to be tossed.
I also want bluetooth headphones. I've resisted for awhile b/c I really don't like things in my ears but I've been having to use regular headphones a lot lately with work calls and the wires are bugging me.
A Mambe hooded blanket. My friend had one at our sons' freezing soccer game and it looked amazing. A hooded stadium blanket that you basically wrap around yourself. I foresee many more games in the cold watching my boys play sports so this will be a no brainer. It's not cheap but seems like it will last a long time

I kind of want a plant shelf. I've just about run out of room and am now setting up flower pots on a pair of cardboard boxes.
Some new linens. All our good ones fell victim to an insane clothes dryer. I'm sick and tired of looking at the old stuff that's left but have not gotten around to replacing it.
But realistically, I've caused the family so many optional expenses this year (and will probably cause more) that I don't think I should be getting anything.

I'm not sure. I just finished jotting down DD/DH's Xmas gifts and didn't write down anything under my name because I don't know. I'm really tempted to pick out a new rice cooker (that we've been needing) and call it a day, but I know that's super sad.
Edit: Yes, I'm pretty much in charge of my own gift because if I leave it to DH, I'll likely get another scanner or similar office equipment I never actually use

@autumnleaves: Oh dear, where to start. I sort of went overboard. I think my favorites are:
Oat Cleansing Facial Polish which I use before bed
Manuka Honey Cleansing Balm (which I use after the Oat Polish because the polish is a little drying)
Aloe Vera Cleansing Gel which I use in the morning
Lavender Protective Moisturizer SPF 17
Sicilian Bergamot Body Lotion
The cherry enzyme peel and white tea mask are good too.
With three young kids, a full time job and the pandemic, this plus late night phone calls to my best friend are basically the only joys I have left in my life. Um, other than my children, I mean.

@ElbieKay: lol I have decided to splurge and try the manuka honey cleansing balm and a detox mask. At first I felt like my skin was clearer at the start of the pandemic since I wear less make up but the masks and the stress are causing more?breakouts. Thank you for the product suggestions.

@Littlebit7: I recently tossed all of our old knives because they were so old and cheap, and have begun slowly replacing them with Shun. I’m obsessed; they’re the best knives ever. All that to say, I feel you on the new knives!!
