I usually love asking for fancy soaps, body washes, etc. that seem like frivolous things to buy myself, but are nice gifts to receive! Aesop, Formulary55, Jo Malone, etc. I also love nice ceramics - serve ware, etc., and love Heath Ceramics, which is local to me.

@theotherstark: We got Shun knives for our wedding and I love them! We should be sharpening them more often (only have done it once in the 9 years we've had them) but they are still crazy sharp and amazing. I've been trying to convince my mom to get rid of her dull knives but convincing her that a sharp knife is actually safer than a dull one has been difficult.

@theotherstark: @Mommy Finger: Me too on the Shun knives, we bought them years ago and I love them so much.
My Foreo Luna came yesterday, I've only used it twice and I already feel like my skin is softer and smoother!

Trying to figure this out for myself, and it is tough! But I wanted to throw out a suggestion for anyone wanting some nice skincare products -- I've been using the Farmacy Honeymoon Glow serum and I LOVE it. It's a bit pricey, but lasts awhile since you only apply about twice a week. I've had it for three months and am not even halfway through. I'm a big skincare junkie, and this is my fave product right now.

I'm bumping this post in case anyone needs ideas for themselves. And I have an idea to add. I bought DH an Ember mug (one of those electric mugs that keeps a drink hot) for his birthday this year because he always says that he hates reheated coffee. But he never used it, and it's been sitting in a box most of the year. I decided to try it out this morning since my coffee and tea always get cold before I can finish them (thanks, kids ) . It was awesome- way better than I even expected. Having steaming coffee at the bottom of my mug was seriously delightful.

@Chuckles: This is awesome to know because I have the same problem and it makes me so frustrated. I’ve thought about buying one for years! Do you have to use a special mug or can you use any mug?

@erinbaderin: it's only the mug that comes with the charging pad. It's got some kind of heater in the walls of the mug. And the sides of the mug get warm but not hot.

What I love about the Ember is the consistency of the temperature. I am neither scalding my tongue or drinking a cold cup. Go for 14 oz. The 12 oz is too small. I got mine in the fall and drank about 7 cups of decaf that day bc I loved playing with it.
