We taught LO how to clap last week by basically doing "If you're happy and you know it" about a hundred times. This afternoon we got home from daycare and I sat her down in the nursery and started to sing it and she immediately got a big smile on her face and started clapping before I even finished the first line! It was so cute--she looked so proud of herself. I was impressed she knew to do it without having me to mimic!

Counting in Chinese! Not only did she get it on our first try but only a week later she knows some of the numbers following.
I'm really impressed because I've been bad about talking to her in Chinese. Now that she's had a recent language explosion I'm going to do it more.

She moved her hands when singing Itsy bitsy spider. And tonight she would shake her head no when I asked her if she wanted to get out of the tub.

She surprised me with a new word on Saturday morning "kiss?" OK!
And she used the potty for the first time last night!

On Saturday I was drinking a bottle and she pointed and said "that?" And I said "bottle". The next day at the store she pointed a bottle of iced tea and said "bottle!".

R is crawling all over the place for the past week. She's started to try pulling herself up enough that we had to drop the crib to its lowest level.

I swear she was trying to sing itsy bitsy spider with me. I would stop and she would continue in gibberish. So precious. She also started leaning in to give kisses and hugs.

I LOVE how LO has been saying "mommy" so perfectly and on his own when he sees me 
His daddy is a little jealous. he also kissed me on his own volition earlier this week. too cute for words.

He can walk down the step from our deck without hesitating OR holding onto anything.
On Saturday he climbed to the top of a big playground slide and slid down by himself.
He can sing long stretches of the ABCs in order...like 6-7 letters at a time, miss one or two and pick it right back up for another stretch.
On Saturday he pooped in his potty by himself!

She always knew how to point to her body parts when I say "Where is your head, your nose, your mouth, etc", but today grandma asked her in Chinese and she pointed to all the right parts. Grandma taught her!

She walked by a shelf that has my ceramic dogs on it, and said "woo-woof!" Usually we have to prompt her so cute!

@tinyperson: so cute! L has been woofing at dogs all the time now too! his most recent actually is "baa" for when he sees a pic of a sheep.
I am just getting blown away everyday by his new skills and level of understanding. Just today we were getting his stroller into the trunk and he was pointing at what to do, like he was telling me where it goes. And then he tried to close the trunk for me once the stroller was in! so helpful! (he was strapped to me in the Beco while i was doing this, that's why he had access to reach for the trunk).

Her memory. I wanted to watch a movie and turned on Netflix. She said, "Quasimota?" She watched part of Disney's Hunchback of Notre Dame with me almost 2 months ago.
I think I love this stage the most just watching her become her own little person.

He patted my shoulder! I was giving him a hug and sure and behold he was patting away as if saying it's ok mama I love you too.

E only babbles using the consonant sounds B and Y. "Babababa, yayaya". Then one morning a couple of weeks ago, DH and I were talking and I reminded him to call his mum. DD looked up at us both and said, clear as day, "mum!". She hasn't done it since!!!!
