My brother and I are 2 1/2 years apart, but we were 3 grades apart. We used to fight a lot, esp. when we were in separate schools. Once I was a senior in hs and he was a freshman, we became much closer.

Mine are 8 years apart. (Previous relationship and all that jazz)
I'm and only, so I have no perspective on that, but my spouse is the oldest of 4, with he and his youngest sibling being 8 years apart, lol! He did say that when they were younger, it was difficult to relate, but as they got older, and were both into adulthood, they grew much closer.

There are 2 years 8 months between myself and my middle sister, and 13 years two months between myself and my youngest sister.

There are 6 years 3 months between my DH and his sister.

Due to our current ages, I'd like our kids to be no more than 3 years apart, preferably about 2 years.

My brother and I are 16 months apart, and my Hub's sister and him are 14 months apart.

For our kids, we'd like to aim for them to be roughly 15-20 months apart. I'd like to start trying for #2 when #1 is 6 months old.

My brother is 3 years older than me (which seems optimal - not having two kids in diapers at the same time.) My husband is the oldest of five, and they are all 2-2.5 years apart.

We're hoping to have kids three years apart so when it's time for college, we'll only be dealing with double tuition for 1 year. I am three years and six years older than my two younger brothers. Growing up, it would have been easier if we were closer in age, but we have grown close as adults.

there is a 4 year gap between myself and my middle sibling and then a 5 year gap between her and the oldest. I hope to keep my kids 3 or 4 years apart. Anything less than 3 years apart will just be too difficult. I want the first child to be old enough to understand me when I talk, to be potty trained, and to be going to kindegarten before the the next one is born, otherwise its like raising two babies.

My older sister is 8 years older than me. My younger siblings are 1 and 2 years younger than me. My older sister and I do get along now. When she was in high school, not so much. She was off doing her own thing. As for my younger brother and sister, we fought a lot as kids. Well the one good thing is if I was mad at my brother, I sometimes had my sister on my side. Or vice versa. (well i guess that might be a bad thing because we kinda bullied the odd one out.) Now, we are good. There still are some personality conflicts but our relationship got better as we got older.

About 4 yrs between my brother and I. I honeslty loved it. Of course we fought like any siblings. But I LOVED having a big brother to watch over me. DH is 6 yrs older than his siblings which are triplets. DH has a daughter already, so there will be at least 9 yrs difference between her and her future brothers/sisters.

My brother and I are 6 years apart (he is older) although we werent close when I was younger - we def got closer once I started my high school years.. and now that we are both career people we are even closer. The age gap just seemed to get smaller and smaller.

DS and DD will be 4 years apart. My oldest sister and I are 8 yrs, and my other sister is 3 years older then me.

I have 5 sisters, I am the oldest. The furthest distance between me and my sisters is 13 years. The closest is 3 years. I wish we were all closer. I am not really super close to any of my sisters. Don't get me wrong I love my sisters and love to take them out and spoil them. I just never had the super close best friend relationship with any of them.

We would like our children close in age. I am thinking trying for number two once number one is about 6 months.

I know a few people with siblings almost exactly 2 years, 9 months apart and/or who want similar plans for their own children. There's something about a child turning two, where parents say, ok... time to have another!

For our situation, I never really thought about age-spacing too much. I took a more relaxed approach and said, let's have one and then we'll see. So I just waited til we felt we were ready for another... and that feeling came around when DD #1 was 2.5. DD#2 is here now and they are 3 years, 5 months apart. I'm not worried about how the age difference will affect their relationship. I think there are alot of other more infuential factors.

I'm super close to my sister who is 9.5 years older than me, but not to my brother so much who is 5 years older... It's more of a personality and family dynamics (read: family drama) thing in our case.
