A veggie tray and hummus from the grocery store. Or a salad in a bag, or potato/pasta salad. Always a hit!
Or, if you wanted to make something easy, you could make crab dip. 1 can of crab meat, one brick of cream cheese- mix together and serve with seafood sauce and crackers.

Grocery store on the way it is! It's been one of those days.
@Mrs. Oatmeal: I am going to make that crab dip next time though. Yummy!

Brick of cream cheese (or brie if you're fancy and have the ability to warm it up when you arrive), one small jar of raspberry jam poured on top. Crackers.

I've really been loving grape tomatoes halved, fresh mozzarella chunks, and pasta tossed with store-bought pesto and lemon juice. I added some rotisserie chicken to it on Sunday and have been eating it for lunch every day this week! Other than boiling the pasta, it took no time at all.

If you don't need to bring food, I would suggest bringing plates, cups, napkins ... things that the host may need? Otherwise, I would bring a dip. REALLY easy to make and you can heat it up there. Spinach artichoke dip, cream cheese and roasted pepper dip .... etc. Take a baguette and slice those up and you have a dip tray.
