@coacheswife123: Is it bad that I read the title as CD = cloth diaper?! I was all ready to say Bum Genius!
I don't remember the first CD I owned was. I think it might have been Shania Twain that I stole from my country loving brother.

School of Fish- 3 Strange Days (maybe)... I think I got a Housemartins CD early on too. Sad that I can't remember for sure.
Ace of Base reminds me of traveling through Tibet. Our truck had a cassette tape player and we only had two cassette tapes. Ace of Base and Bryan Adams. I hated them both for a little while afterward, but they both make me smile now.

These were so bad and inappropriate, but Santa brought me Lil Kim and Foxy Brown's debut CD.

@Mrs. Jacks: Why thanks! Things deteriorated quickly though - I think my next two were Ace of Base and La Bouche.

So the first album I even bought was Green Day-Dookie. But it was on cassette, ha.
The first CD I bought was Alanis Morisette-Jagged Little Pill, followed shortly by Hootie and the Blowfish.
I still listen to all those albums regularly

I'm pretty sure it was Amy Grant. My parents bought me the CD player for Christmas, and I remember being annoyed that they only got me Amy Grant to listen to on it. I later then borrowed a Billy Joel CD from my cousin (River of Dreams) and I still have it...I wonder if I should return it to her, since it's been about 20 years?

@Mrs. High Heels: @Shutterbug: @coacheswife123: @Mrs. Monkey: It still makes me happy when I hear and old Ace of Base song on the radio. Occasionally the easy listening station will play one and I always think its going to be a good day!

Uhm, The Lion King Soundtrack... you said "owned" and not "bought", so I think my mom gave it to me with my first boom box! Can't remember what my first actual CD purchase was.
