We are taking a 9 hr road trip next weekend to see my BIL graduate college. We are planning to leave around bedtime so hopefully my LO (1 yr) will sleep the entire drive.
What's the longest road trip you have taken with your LO? Any tips?

We did 16 hours one way with the kids last summer. It actually went really well! I've also done about 5 hours on my own with the kids a few times. The first time was the worst, and it's gotten progressively better since then!

Our longest was 10 hours when he was 6 months old. He slept for 4 hours in the car!
I made sure I had easy access to a small bag with some toys in it (and next time snacks, but he wasn't eating solid food yet). When he was awake we stopped for a couple of minutes every hour or two so that he could get a break from his car seat. We'd stand him up on our laps in the front seat or take him for quick stroll through a gas station or something (we were driving through a snowstorm, otherwise we'd have just found a rest stop to get some fresh air.
Good luck!

Ours was 13-14 hours with a 3.5 month old. We left at around 3:30/4am after her mid-night feeding. She slept for the first 4 hours or so, which helped us get in a good amount of cruising. One of us rode in the backseat next to her and brought a few new toys (she was just becoming interested in them). She'd last for about two hours, then we'd stop for a diaper change/stretch. We made sure we got out at each mealtime and brought a blanket to put on the table and let her roll around. I was surprised at how well she handled it, to be honest! We'd told ourselves that it was okay to admit defeat and stop overnight along the way if needed, but she was a trooper! Hope you're as lucky!

7 hours... Just keep driving! Don't stop for everything. Sometimes you have to push through a few tears.

So far, about 7 hours at 6 weeks. My only tip is to not drink too much so you don't have to stop if LO is sleeping.
