We lost power yesterday around 5pm and we are still without it. Thankfully my parents are letting us stay with them and we were able to bring 75% of our food with so it doesn't spoil. They said it could be a few more days since our town got a good amount of damage, I'm hoping it doesn't really take that long I want to get back home.

I think 3-4 days. It was because of an ice storm so I was able to put my perishable items outside.
I'm sure I've been without power when I lived at my parents as a kid, but I don't remember.

Almost a week because of a good old hurricane. Hope you get your power back soon!
ETA - oh wait, we lost power for 2 weeks with Hurricane Gloria but I was 2.

The longest in my adult memory was a few hours shy of 4 days. Like @swedishfish: my family lost power for a couple of weeks after Gloria. I remember playing in a tube in the floodwaters, but not much else about it.

A week about 20 years ago thanks to an ice storm. Haven't had more than a few hours since.

I lived in western New York at the time, we got a freak snowstorm in October and we lost power for over a week (maybe like 10 days?). It was horrible!

Hmm maybe a week? Hurricanes pretty much always knocked us out that long when I was growing up there.

One time we had a super typhoon growing up (175 mph winds!!!) I think a good portion of the island lost power on and off for over a month or two while they tried to fix all the power lines that went down. Luckily my parents had a huge generator to power the house and we had a huge swimming pool to use for flushing the toilet b/c water then became an issue. Still, it wasn't fun. As an adult, probably 24 hours since our house in the states is right by a huge hospital (within their power grid); and hospitals and 911 call centers get their powers back first. Because of the snow storm my husband couldn't make it home so it was me, my oldest, and our dog. And I put all the frozen and cold stuff outside after some hours. Such a life saver in a way. If it was in the summer... yikes!

7 days once and 8 days another time 2 years later. So sorry to hear you are dealing with that

I think we lost power during the blackout for about 24 hours. That might be the longest I've dealt with. I wasn't in Canada during the 1998 Ice Storm, but I know that my family went without power for a lot longer than that!

3 days? Some people were out of power for over a week week during that storm. We crashed at ILs because they had a gas fireplace and a generator. Thankfully it was the winter so we put everything in coolers and stuck it in a snow bank.
There was a really good sale in a generator over the winter. We're set now if we lose power. It should be enough to power our fridge, hot water heater and a few small things.

Like 4-6 days after a wind storm. I was lucky though that it was fall and the weather was very temperate so heat/cold wasn't an issue. I just showered at a friend's house and either hung out there after work or hung out at home and read/played games via candle light. It did suck but not quite as bad as expected. Of course it was just me... would've been worse with a LO!

4 or 5 days without because of the derecho that came through in 2012. What was worse was that we were without water for that time, too. Our 4 days was nothing compared to some of our neighbors, though-we knew people without for 13 days, and it was over 100 degrees! Ugh

We have gone without power many times due to hurricanes. The longest was about 10 days? No electricity or water. We visited a lot of friends during that time. And it was during the summer in Florida... awful.

One week. During hurricane season. That week was miserable. The humidity made the wall to wall carpet damp and clammy under foot.

We went well over a week (probably close to two) after Hurricane Bob when I was little. We were the absolute last area to get the power restored so we had to go to friends' houses for showers and had to use collected water to flush the toilet. I only remember because of how miserable it was! More recently we lost it for about 3 or 4 days after Hurricane Sandy. It was a little tough because DS was not even 2 months old but we had city water and sewer and a gas water heater so we never lost running hot water or the toilets or anything like we did at my parents house.
