Our smallest bedroom is 10 x 12, and it's still quite large for what it is (Wagon Jr.'s bedroom). Our other two bedrooms are even larger, and I so wish we had 4 small bedrooms instead of 3 big ones! But alas, it's not our house to renovate 
All 3 bedrooms have at least one window and a closet. And we're talking great closets, including a square walk-in for our master bedroom!

10 x 10 I think... It seems even smaller with all of the nursery furniture in it. We definitely bought too much - a crib, long dresser with changing table top, tall dresser, and a glider. Whoops.
I want a walk in closet in our next home!

I think the two smallest bedrooms are like 9 by 7 or something like that. House was built in 1963, so that explains the size. Furniture was smaller back then!
We have 4 bedrooms, each has a closet and windows. There's no way I could combine the two small bedrooms and make it a bigger room, because one is long and the other one is wide. It's like they'd make kind of an L shaped room if I took down the wall in between and I don't think I'd really gain any function that way.

11X11. This was a requirement of mine when we bought our house. The smallest dimension of a spare bedroom I would accept was 11x11, I would also take 10x11. Anything smaller made the room too small where you couldn't comfortably fit a queen sized bed and a dresser with walking space.

Ours is about 9.5x8.5. Its got a fairly large closet though. It was DH's "office" (aka man cave) until C was born. Now it's basically a storage room.

Our 2brs are the same size, about 12x12', and the closet in our br is the width of a standard door and a single hanger deep 
We use the larger closet (has a sliding door) in the office for storage since the br closets and a small bathroom closet are our only closets. Who designs a condo without a coat closet?!?

@mrs. wagon: yes, i think so, with no problems.
when we looked at the house, one of the bedrooms had a twin bed in it, the other had a futon couch. Right now, we have a full sized bed in the room, there's plenty of space to walk around both sides and put a night stand on each side, plus a tall dresser.

We only have two bedrooms-- decent sized master, then a very small nursery-- it's about 8x10. It would be fin, actually, but we have our queen size bed in there for guests, so with a queen, crib, and smallish low dresser, it's going to be very full-- no walking space.
@mrs. wagon: If we didn't have the bed in the 8x10 room, we could fit a crib, dresser/changing table, glider and nightstand. It would be a little tight, especially if it was a big overstuffed glider, but I think it would all fit.
Our old apt had a HUGE walk in closet. It was awesome. Now we have a perfectly fine one but we were so spoiled.

@mrs. wagon: I know someone with a nursery ~9x8, it has a small glider, crib, dresser with changer top, and a small armoire (no closet). Those just fit. It's not bad for a nursery provided you put gear outside the br, but you could only put a twin bed & a small dresser, maybe a nightstand, without overwhelming the space. One of those beds with drawers under would be awesome, or a loft bed with a desk under for when they're older!

@mrs. bird: My old apartment (techinically a condo that we rented) had a coat closet, but it was near a door that we didn't enter from, so the previous tenant had made it a pantry instead, which was so much more useful. We had a coat tree near the door that we entered from, and this huge pantry for all our food. It was way better that way, actually (especially since we had the huge closet in the bedroom anyway).

Our secondary rooms are 11x11 and 12x10. Right now one is a sewing room with a futon for guests and the other a guest room.

I think you also have to be creative on how you use the space, especially when the kids get older. For example, I always had a desk in my room so I always did my homework there, not at the kitchen table, because it was just too noisy and there were too many distractions. In our current house, it was important to me that in my son's bedroom, we could fit a proper desk because I do not want him to be doing his homework at the table in the kitchen. Art projects, though, fine in the kitchen.

@Foodnerd81: we rent the condo also, no way I'd buy it! I'd kill for a pantry! Our kitchen is one side of a hallway that connects the LR/DR and the bathroom/bedrooms 
we have a coat tree in the dining room. But really, where are you supposed to put your vacuum & stuff without a closet?!

@mrs. bird: @Foodnerd81: there is no coat closet (or ANY closets downstairs, for that matter) in our 2000 sq foot townhouse. Seriously. We installed 2 rows of coat hooks on the wall, we have a bench with basket storage under neath that, two (no, three!) sets of shoe storage, and 2 rows of hooks for the kids' coats. All in the front hall, next to the stairs. AND we have a double stroller in that hall because there is just nowhere else to put it and our nanny takes the girls out for a walk every day.
@looch: @Foodnerd81: @mrs. bird: thanks for the feedback on how much you can fit into a small room!! Since our kids will only use their rooms for sleeping until probably elementary school when they'll have homework, we seriously need to take small bedrooms into consideration since we live in an area with ONLY older homes.

@mrs. bird: @Foodnerd81: The lack of closet space on the first floor is one of the three major reasons why I'd never buy our townhouse! I got a tall Ikea bookshelf with glass doors for a pantry in our expansive kitchen and it has changed my life. Totally freed up our cabinets. Our vacuum used to live right outside our downstairs bathroom in a corner in the hall. Now it lives inside the bathroom right in front of the toilet because the girls (crawling babies) kept trying to tip it over.

@mrs. wagon: yeah, I hear you about the smaller bedrooms.
In the end, for us, location trumped everything I thought I wanted in a home. I ended up with a raised ranch (which is my least favorite house style) and 4 beds/2 baths. The baths are nothing to write home about and 2 of the bedrooms are small. The master isn't luxurious, but it fits our queen sleigh bed, tall and long dressers, 2 nightstands and 2 slipper chairs.
On the plus side, we have a nice corner lot, fenced in pool, low traffic streets and we're walking distance to the elementary school. I can literally stand on the front lawn and watch LO walk down the cul de sac to the school Just not having to deal with the bus and car lines....I can't even tell you how much I am looking forward to kindergarten now!

Um... small? I have no idea. Maybe 9x8? It's Sadie's nursery. We have a crib, good sized dresser with changing pad, and a glider & ottoman with a side table. It doesn't feel cramped. Her swing & jumper are in the living room where we spend most of our time.

M's nursery which is approximately 9x10. There's her crib, a vertical IKEA bookcase, IKEA table and chair, dresser and a glider + ottoman. She also has two small closets. It's not cramped.

The nursery- it's 5'x7'. We live in an old house, and I can't imagine it being anything other that that!

I don't know the size of DD's room, but it's tiny. It just fits her crib, changing table, and a bookshelf for her toys, with a small amount of room to walk around in between. We have a nice glider that was meant for her room, but when we moved to this house it had to wind up out in the living room. We'll be moving sometime in the next year, and I can't wait to be back in a bigger space again!

We have four bedrooms, each with walk in closets and at least two windows. The smallest bedrooms are the downstairs bedrooms which are 12 x 12s. Upstairs bedrooms are all 12 x 15s.

Ours is 8x10. It's a nice size for the nursery (though the rocking chair has to go in the living room) and it also worked well as an office. I imagine it would be fine for a child's room if we were staying here longer, but it's too small for a guest room.
ETA: We could probably fit the rocking chair in the room if we moved out the little bookshelf we've got in there.

We live in a 2 br. apartment. Our bedroom is huge but LOs room is tiny, 9'8" by 7'11". Originally we had her crib, a dresser, changing table, rocker, and bookshelf in it. We recently moved the rocker and changing table out and put in a small love seat. It's a small room but it's comfy & cozy. I just can't believe that the previous tenants had a grown man living in that room with a twin bed!

I *think* K's nursery is the smallest. I think 10' x 10'. DH's man cave seems small, but maybe because of it's weird doorway and the room is rectangular. OR because of ALL the crap he keeps in there!
