My kids don't have a theme either. I guess the loose theme is "art that we already had that we relocated to nursery." Most of it is modern mixed-media art by an artist in our hometown, but that's sort of an obscure theme! When they move into real beds, I'd like to choose bedding based on their interests. They will probably still be sharing though so it will likely be a train/penguin theme or something like that, ha!

We had an elephant theme for a while, but when we got his big boy bedding we went with a navy and white star set from PBK. We got the matching lampshade and navy and white chevron curtains. I figure it's relatively neutral if we want to add anything to it later.

Forest theme... Plan to keep it as we convert it to s big boy room. He is a nature boy and lives to spend time outside.

The theme was supposed to be "nautical" with red, white and blue as the color scheme, but my son pretty much puts his own creations up on the wall that go against my theme!

DS: Star Wars

DD: no theme really - however she is still obsessed with frozen so its heading that way!

From birth to 2.5 years, he had a Lion King themed nursery (thanks to BRU). Since we moved 6 months ago and he got a big boy bed, we started from scratch and have been putting together an outer space themed room. I chose it because for the past year he was obsessed with going to the Science Centre and he particularly enjoyed the planetarium/space section. We got the Eric Astronaut sheet set and planets quilt from PBK. And the same lamp as @ShootingStar: and a few other space/planet themed decorations still need to be put up.

His baby brother arriving in a few weeks will get a lion king themed room so we can re-use everything.

Both girls have the same colour rooms (light green) and we made them semi themed by using wall decals. Lo1 has owls and lo2 has safari animals, they also have themed night lights and storage boxes.

Bennett has a forest theme - grey walls, white furniture, white full-height birch tree decals, forest mobile, and then some prints from the Animal Print Shop. And most of his stuffed animals are forest animals. The new baby is going to have a jungle theme but similarly subtle - a tree wall decal, some animal prints (rhino, zebra, etc), and that's about it. Really both rooms, much like most of our house, have a theme of "grey".

For DD, both her nursery and her now big girl room didn't have a theme, just bright fun colors.

For this baby (boy), it's turning into a vintage airplane themed nursery!!

@Smurfette: My daughter has the same duvet cover I painted her twin bed a teal type color and bought a fun yellow rug from RugsUSA. I love her room.

DD1 - it's pink/brown with a European theme I guess. It has a collection of tea cups from England displayed on the wall, a Eiffel tower lamp. Above her bed, we had a friend paint three pics. One is big ben, the clock face is the time she was born, the Eiffel tower, and the third is the Brooklyn bridge ( not European, but it fits.)

DD2 - is green with purple and grey accents. It's kind of an elephant theme. Elephant bedding, a couple elephant pictures that I made and a couple elephant figurines.

These sound so cool! Anyone have any pictures??

DS (8 weeks) has light green walls and white furniture with a couple elephant prints. All bedding is white and grey. Simple! When he gets older and we move I'm thinking of The Little Prince but it will probably end up being whatever he shows interest in!

@NorthStar: we were going to paint her bed pink, metal headboard, but everyone says it will chip. So I think we are going to leave it white. Then teal walls and a pink rug.

No theme, just a collection of items we like and thought looked good together.

@ShootingStar: we have the sheets and pillows but got the blue madras plaid comforter and pillows too

@Smurfette: no haha, only the days the cleaning lady comes or if we are having people over otherwise it's too annoying to make it twice a day because she still naps mid-day!

I love your bedding...I really want colourful polka dot sheets like that but can't find anything at a reasonable price with our terrible Canadian dollar right now

@NorthStar: it's actually pretty easy to keep clean because she has very few toys in her room...I'm sure that will change as she gets older though!

@Charm54: I am still looking for sheets. I don't want to pay $80 (queen) for sheets on PB! I can't wait to start putting it all together once we paint.
