I feel like it must be so simple, but I haven't figured it out yet! Usually it turns out centered, but sometimes it doesn't. Plus usually my daughter is running away from me, so it's hard to really carefully gather her hair so that the pony is centered. I sent her to daycare today with the world's side-iest ponytail in history.
What's the trick to centering a girl's ponytail?

I don't have a daughter, so haven't had to deal with this, but I suspect if your subject isn't being still, it's going to be hit or miss on whether it's centered! I doubt there's a trick unless you can pin them down somehow and get them to not move their head!

The trick is if they sit still it will be straight - if they move, so does the ponytail!

Sitting still is the trick.
Bubble guppies is the only reason DD has tidy hairdos.

I'd be happy just to get one on her. Also, her hair is short, so if I'm able to gather up all her hair, then it must be centered.

Haha, just kidding. I am awaiting the arrival of my LO so haven't had to deal with this yet. I imagine if they aren't staying still that it is going to be difficult to get a straight ponytail.

My friend can work magic on kids hair, so if M goes to her house in the morning with crazy hair, when I pick her up she has a perfect french braid or something complicated. I look at her sideways and say I can't even get her to sit still for a simple ponytail. How do you do it??? Teach me your ways
