I hate packing the kitchen! Too many breakable items and I never have the proper packaging.

We've always had movers pack everything but if I had to pack myself, I'd say the office or kitchen would be the worst. Office because there's so much stuff and computer things. Kitchen because of all the breakables and having to extra wrap everything.

I agree.. Kitchen. There's no easy way to pack a kitchen with all of the small appliances, plates, bowls, etc.

Kitchen for sure! Also our home office. So many papers and files to go through.

kitchen for sure. we've moved a lot, have always packed ourselves, and ive always hated the kitchen the most. it just has so much hidden stuff. all those drawers and cabinets and things you forgot existed hidden in the back of things... ugh. my worst nightmare.

Kitchen! The last time we moved, movers packed the kitchen, so that was a relief.

The kitchen! All those oddly shaped things and especially the appliances that don't fit neatly into a box!

Bathroom, there are so many small items that can spill or leak. I usually just move the stuff inside the storage cubes they are already in, but I feel the need to I purge as I pack.

I'm a freak. I LOVE packing the kitchen bc I'm so type-A and it's easy to organize and label things. I hate hate hate packing up storage closets bc it's always really mish-mash. No way to organize or label well. (Freak)

kitchen! We have to move in less than a week and I still haven't picked the kitchen!

Ugh kitchen for sure. In March we paid movers to pack our whole apartment just so I wouldn't have to pack the kitchen.

@wheres_c: Oh yeah, that's the other reason. It sucks to pack the types of things in a kitchen, it its also the room you need and you can't pack a lot till last minute. You know as soon as you pack the can opener, you're gonna need it.

Hands down the kitchen!!! I'm hiring movers to pack next time. Either that or I'm giving myself a full week to move and doing it one laundry basket full at a time.

The kitchen was the hardest because every plate had to be wrapped and carefully stacked and was the room with the most boxes ( we had 35 boxes and 12 were from the kitchen!!)

Another vote for the kitchen. It's just so hard to sort what you will need from what you can pack, and with all the breakables and glassware/dishes things get so heavy!
We just moved this past weekend and I am so glad to be done with it, though I now have to finish unpacking which is still annoying but a lot more fun.

The office, it is where homeless items in our house go to die so when packing it I start to purge and organize and it takes me hours! The kitchen doesn't bother me as much for some reason although the past few times we moved I made a point of doing a car load with appliances which helped a lot.

Another vote for the kitchen. So many breakables, and appliances take up so much space in boxes, I always feel like I use up all the boxes in there. Plus DH and I have different opinions on how much padding breakable items require-- last time we moved there was a lot of:
"If MY wine glasses break I'm going to be really me" (me).
"Aren't they OUR wine glasses" (DH)
"Not if you break them" (me).
