What is this? I was confirmed Lutheran and we don't pick names!

@jedeve: I'm just working independently with the deacon at the cathedral. It's been fun because it's really specific to my personal questions and uncertainties! With my work schedule I couldn't do RCIA.

But my high school has the documentation that I participated in the classes, so it's all very informal.

I wanted mine to be Felicity, but at that point they discouraged us and said it was not common practice anymore. Who knows though, I never did get to the bottom of that one.

Katherine. I can't believe I even remember mine. I did not want to be confirmed and my parents forced me to. I think they actually picked the name because I didn't care...

I didn't pick a new one...the priest had us use our names we already have since they're Christian names, but said if they were more uncommon names we would have picked others. (Not Catholic, Eastern Orthodox)

Mine was Sylvia, I was inspired by a friend of my mom's that died a few years before from cancer.

Maria after the saint Maria Goretti.

Joan (after both my late grandmother and St. Joan of Arc)

Veronica is mine

I don't think mine was a religious name but it was Amanda because in 8th grade that was the name I wish I had

We were not allowed to pick our own. I had to use something that was similar to my given name.
