I don't go to any other chains here (there's a great local place not far from my house) but when I lived in NOLA I loved CC's Coffee House.

Dilettante. I think they make their own chocolates but their coffees and lattes have a hint of chocolate. It's so amazing. Just realized I need to alternate between them and Starbucks. I miss stopping there.

I have never been to a chain other than Starbucks!

Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. Better than Starbucks and now not just in Southern California... it's everywhere, even Mexico. Love that place. Blendeds 4ever.

Does 7-11 count? Haha. They have a decent coffee bar, and it's really cheap. Obviously, I don't care much about the quality of my coffee...

There really aren't any other chains around here for coffee, unless Dunkin Donuts counts. But I don't like the coffee from Dunkin, so none.

Chain? Dunkin' Donuts. But, we have a nice local place here that I can get a good latte from.

The most amazing coffee I have ever had in my life if from a local chain (although I think they expanding very soon!) It's all organic, free trade coffee. It's called Alterra. Look it up!!

I guess Tim Hortons, but I don't go to either place very often.

@highwire: I agree! Chain coffee shops including Starbucks in the UK are not great!

I really like Pete's and will go out of my way to go there if what I'm wanting is an iced latte...they steam the milk even for an iced drink and it makes it soooo creamy and delicious.
There was this place in NY though that I was obsessed with called Fika. They are definitely not a chain but have at least two locations (58th between 5th & 6th is one -- go if you can!) and they have the very best coffee in the world. It's Swedish and they also have an in-house, award-winning chocolatier and have amazing goodies to eat, too. Ahhhhh I miss New York!

I never thought I'd say this, but McDonald's. I don't think I've eaten there in 10+ years but their lattes are super good!

@Mrs. High Heels: Omg, I LOVE philz!! The first time we went there, DH couldn't remember the actual name or the location, just that it's "somewhere in the Mission." We ended up having to ask a cop (haha) who knew where to direct us.

Dunkin Donuts. Around here it's more popular than Starbucks. Although personally, unless I'm getting iced coffee I'd prefer Starbucks.

I love Paul Bassett but I think they only have locations in Asia & Europe

@Sammyfab: lol I was going to say the same thing!
McD's has some decent, cheap coffee.

Argo Tea in Chicago. I love the coffee shop near us called Cafe Mustache. I might get a blood orange smoothie today from there.

@MrsBrewer: I love Alterra! Especially that one down by the lake. I ask that we go there everytime we're in Milwaukee
I loved Peet's coffee when I lived in SF. Here in VA it's a combo of Dunkin & 7-11. For now, I think I'm sticking with the swiss water process decaf that I found at my local coffee shop - not a chain.

@sweetooth: Yes that's my favorite one too!! Although in summer on a nice day....good luck finding parking! All Alterra's are always packed. but that's a good thing I guess!
