I was watching #6 (The Half-Blood Prince) but DD woke up from her nap, so we switched it over to #1 (The Sorcerer's Stone). She's only allowed to watch certain parts of HP1, but she LOVES Harry Potter! Personally, though, my favorite is #4 (The Goblet of Fire). The Yule Ball is one of my favorite scenes in the whole series!

I am super bitter about the movies. I think the first one was good. It was the shortest book and they did a good job at getting a lot of the info in. The rest? Meh. The books are just too fantastic.

I think GofF for me too. Probably my fave book too, they were still so innocent and just falling in love for the first time. Sigh.

@.twist.: I love the books, like Love, but I think they did well with the moviea, too. It's not exact, but it's close enough that it has the essence of the books, I think. The only movie I was sad about was HPDHP2 because I thought so much of the explanation of magic and Voldemort and Harry's relationship didn't really transfe rinto the movie. Otherwise, though, I was/am pretty happy with the movies!

#1...I tend to like the first movie in any series. I like the introductions to the characters, the world and the story! That being said, I love all the HP movies!

@Honeybee: I guess, for how in depth and lengthy the books were, the movies just didn't seem to include enough info. I know it happens with all book to movie adaptations, but these ones really got to me!

Order of the Phoenix was my favorite movie (besides, ya know, Sirius dying)
Half Blood Prince was my favorite book - they really didn't do the movie justice on that one. -

I'm ashamed to say this, but although I've seen all of the movies at least a dozen times each (
me some ABC Family marathons!) I only JUST read all the books this past year! They really are so much better than the movies, even though I love the movies.

I like the first two and the very last one. I hate watching the ones where some of my favorite (no spoilers) characters die.

Chamber of secrets was my least favorite but I think my most is either prisoner of Azkaban or the deathly hallows (bothy parts).
I hated 5 too- they left out so much stuff it just makes me irrationally angry.

Prisoner of Azkaban. It's also tied with Dealthy Hallows for favorite book. I think it's when it started getting darker and Sirus was introduced. And I love me some Sirius Black.

Hmmmm, either Half Blood Prince or Deathyl Hallows pt 1. Although, I'm with @.twist.: none of the movies did the books any justice! I also would have been fine with miniseries movies to get all the info in. I've read them all more than twice, so I'm a huge nerd about all things Harry Potter.

I actually think the first and last ones were my favorite. I loved being introduced to the magical world in the first one and the epic battle in the last.

@Boogs: I would start with the first book, it's short and an easy read. Then if you like it you can move on, if you don't then you know!
