Like… just the shape? Or the whole dish?
My favorite shape is penne. I like stab-able pastas. String pasta is too messy to eat with any sense of dignity lol.

I like penne, even though the name always makes me giggle. In spanish (what we speak at home) pene means penis, so if I'm asking my husband what he wants for dinner, I say "would penis with italian sausage be ok?" Or if we're in the grocery store, I'll say "can you go grab of box or two of penises?" Makes me giggle every time.
Yes, I'm 12.

@MediaNaranja: That could be awkward around any spanish speaking family members who aren't too familiar with italian food…. might be time to switch to bow tie

Depends on the sauce!
Linguine with a chunky tomato sauce or Alfredo
Spaghetti with marinara
Bowties with vodka sauce
Penne for zitibake
Cavatappi for Mac & cheese
Rotini for pesto sauce
cantaloupe / 6131 posts
Spaghetti, or the hollow straw kind, like perciatelli or bucatini!

@locavore_mama: rigatoni! Also love spaghetti! Pretty much any will do

The really wide, flat noodles (parpadelle?). They usually come in little "nests". But really, any kind with cheese.

All of it! We eat spaghetti most, but I prefer penne or cavatappi though, because they soak up the most sauce.

Fettuccine or penne.
I also like the really flat wide kind (no idea what it's actually called).

Angel hair is probably my fave but I love ALL noodles. I don't discriminate between Italian, Chinese, Japanese, egg, wheat, rice, etc.

I'm really enjoying how many exclamation marks are in these responses. Glad to know I'm not the only one who's passionate about my preferred pasta.

My favorite is fusili - the long kind that looks like an old telephone cord

I've recently been making ramen (like college dorm ramen) but using it as I would a regular pasta. Tonight i tossed it with arugula, lemon, olive oil, and a sunny side up egg. It was really good.

I like the tri-colored swirly ones, yum. I used to eat them with just some butter and salt!

@MrsPastryLady: yummmmm! I want to do this with udon noodles. So just olive oil with lemon and arugula? Sounds divine!
I love all handmade pasta but especially fettuccine. I love it with clams or with a meaty ragu

@MrsPastryLady: drooling! That looks so yummy, never thought to use ramen this way.

Primavera with angel hair and chicken
I only really like angel hair--everything else is too dense for me.
I don't like heavy sauces (alfredo), and I like lots of veggies with my pasta!

@lilyofthewest: same! We call it radiator pasta bc DH thought that's what the name was
That may be my favorite, but I never met a pasta I didn't like!!
