LO woke up with pink eye. We got antibiotic drops. 4x per day for 7 days. I'm worried I'll forget doses or completely forget after a few days.
What's your method for remembering to give medicine?

I suck at this. But we just had pink eye and they just said to use the ointment until it cleared up and then a few days after that to be sure. Which I guess ended up being like six days. Our pediatrician also said to give them "ideally" four times a day which led me to believe it's not as important on the timing as other antibiotics? Now I'm worried I should have them up. It's so annoying giving them.

I do this;
The worst part for me is remembering to pick it up from daycare (if they do a mid day dose). I recently discovered my pharmacy will split it into two bottles so I can just leave one there. So much easier!

@Charm54: Oh, I like this strategy. We will also have to have daycare give some doses.

@Charm54: This idea is awesome! I make a similar chart, but post it in a very visible spot in the kitchen which is where we give the meds.

I setup alarms on my phone. I also record that we've given the doses on Baby Connect.

@Corduroy: my girl is just getting over pink eye too! Out drops are 3x a day, so I assign giving medicine to different activities are are fixed points. I used diaper changes (wake-up, mid-day, and bedtime) but we were on vacation for most of the week and i forgot quite a few doses. It was gone for two days but came back this morning.

We do a chart on the refrigerator. If it's two doses a day, I will count off the days on our calendar in our kitchen (putting the day number in the corner of the day on the calendar). I then make an X on each number with each cross of the X being a dose. Now that our girl is older the refrigerator chart works really well for her.

Sharpie on the bottle or write on the box itself. Dates and dash marks. I think I originally saw it on Pinterest and thought it was pure genius!

We draw the same grid that's in the pic posted, but we put it on the whiteboard in our kitchen, not the bottle. It's easier for us to see and be reminded when it's on the whiteboard.

@JoyfulKiwi: @Corduroy: I think my LOs pink eye might be coming back. The ped was so vague with the treatment plan I thought it didn't matter that much but it was kind of crusty and pink again this morning.

@Foodnerd81: I wasn't vigilent enough. I'm using the drops again and it already seems cleared up. The ped told me to dose for one more day after symptoms subside so I think I'll do two days this time just to be sure.
