After two weeks in the dryer I retrieved three sheet sets and found mold...lots and lots of mold. The sheets are now in the trash bin and I have to buy new sheets. We disinfected the dryer.
What blunder(s) have you made recently?

I don't make mistakes, girlfriend!
No, in all seriousness, I scratched our hardwood floor because I was being lazy and dragged something instead of lifting it.

My H and I were cooking and accidentally made so much smoke the fire department had to come.....

@looch: Ugh, I've done that a bunch. I feel bad for our floors.
I was trying to make bat-shaped chips for Halloween one year and I set them all on fire! Like flames pouring out of our oven! Oooops!

I put stuff in the crockpot and left for work- and when DH and DS got home from work and daycare- they found the meat still raw because I FORGOT TO TURN IT ON!!!

We were trying to bake bacon as an experiment to avoid splattering the stovetop... but I put it on a flat cookie sheet (without raised edges). Grease dripped almost immediately and smoked up the whole apartment. Oops.

1. Found a sippy cup in my car under the seat...made the mistake of opening it to find milk...or what was once milk. That cup is in the trash.
2. I attempted to make potatoes the other day and they were so inedible...I have no idea where I went wrong on them! ha

I think the worst one, because of how badly it could have gone, was this: We had guests over for dinner and I lit a candle to put in the bathroom. The next day-- a good 12 HOURS later-- I went into the bathroom and found the candle still burning! I still get chills thinking of how lucky we are that we didn't set the whole house on fire!

this morning I was pulling out my basket of spices and knocked a can of something off the shelf as well, right on top of a vase shattering it, and that knocked a canister of pepper over so my work top was full of broken glass and pepper.

This isn't recent, b/c I try not to cook, but we have those super sharp awesome kyocera ceramic knives and I almost chopped my finger off

I was using a knife at my ILs house, and wondering why a) the knife was SO dull and b) why my finger felt like it was getting sliced... the knife was UPSIDE DOWN! Who does that?!

@cheert16: @raspberries: I was THISCLOSE to doing the same thing this morning! I was in the car, with the engine on, when I realized I had never turned on the crockpot. I ran back inside to turn it on. I have no idea what made me think of it, but I'm glad I did, otherwise dinner would be ruined!
I recently made our Orgreenic ceramic non-stick pan into a decidedly NOT non-stick pan when I used olive oil spray in it and then burned the crap out of some portabello mushrooms. That pan will never be the same.

We were doing some home improvement stuff around the house and instead of bring a piece of wood downstairs to the work bench, we thought DH could just hold it overhanging the kitchen table and I would use the jigsaw to cut out a small rectangle. Well, all of a sudden it got harder to cut - neither of us put two and two together, but when I finished we realized I took a 4" chunk out of our table

@Raindrop: I do that all the time with Grands cinnamon rolls. They have so many different kinds and some bake for 450 and others at 325. Of course I don't realize my mistake until I can smell them from the oven an boom charcoal glaze.

I was sanitizing some pacifiers in a pot of water and forgot about them. I almost ruined the pot they were in too,
@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: I have a bad habit of either A) leaving wet clothes in the machine too long, or B) leaving damp clothes in the dryer because our dryer doesn't work so well. So much fun rewashing a load of laundry
