If I were rich it would be Anthropologie. But since I'm not, it's usually some place like Plato's Closet or Ross.

Express, Banana Republic, J Crew, Gilly Hicks, Nordstrom, The Limited, Ann Taylor, Ralph Lauren, Lacoste...I could go on
cantaloupe / 6146 posts
Nordstrom is my favorite even though it's a little over my price range. I usually check out boutiques and small shops and their sales. And... if I'm desperate and need basics I go to Old Navy.
My favorites if I could buy anything are: boutiques on the regular racks, Desigual, Nordstrom, Ann Taylor loft, craft shows for cool knit tops...

Hmm...I don't think I have a set style. I love layering - I wear a lot of long tops and dresses over leggings, and I love heels. I love scarves and blazers too. I love booties and ruffles! My favorite places to shop are Banana Republic and Victoria's Secret. I love both for their dresses and loungewear.

@chopsuey119: I really like being comfortable. I hate clothes that I can't move in!

@sulli301: They have the best dresses! I love their sweater dresses, especially over leggings (who wears dresses that short in the winter?!) I stock up when they are 75% off in the spring, and do the opposite with their summer dresses. It all evens out
I also love their yoga pants. Their new workout line, VSX, is awesome! Their running pants have little built in pockets for your keys!

as much as i would love to shop at banana republic and jcrew on the regular, it's just not in my budget. i used to work for jcrew in college, so i got a nice discount then & i actually still own some of those pieces. now my wardrobe consists of a mixture of target, old navy, new york and co., and a few online stores. i've actually found that i enjoy shopping on a budget - it becomes more of a challenge/game to find things i like that fit in my price range!

@photojane: Is there an outlet near you? The closest Banana Republic to me is an outlet, and I have gotten some amazing deals there! Last time I went I got a tweed work dress, a black silk cocktail dress, a pair of jeans, a silk top, and a tee shirt for $35!

@LinzR: there's one about an hour away, but i don't get to go very often. every time i go, though, it seems there are never really great deals.

@photojane: I think they have weird timing for their deals. I have been plenty of times and left empty handed. The best deals always seem to be around March for some reason. Maybe that's when they start bringing out summer clothes.

I love Anthropologie, Ann Taylor Loft and The Limited. Unfortunately I don't live in the US so I don't get to shop there very often!

Hmm, my style is classic bordering on preppy. I wear only American clothes as the stuff where I am is just horrible. I shop on line at stores where I know my size when I see a good deal, like JCrew, Gap, Lands End Canvas and Banana Republic. I do a ton of shopping on trips home!

I mostly shop Gap, Express, Limited, for basics - like work shirts/clothes, sweaters, etc. and Nordstrom, Anthropologie for jeans, dresses, going out/fun stuff.

Gap is my go-to store. I worked there for 7 years so I know exactly what will fit me. When I feel like splurging, I'll head to Banana Republic. I also like Mexx's style but not necessarily the fit.

@Rubies: I love the Gap! I mostly shop there since they have good fashion at reasonable prices. If I want to splurge I'll do Marc Jacobs, DvF, Reiss, Burberry...something along those lines. But I think it is always fun when you find something really great for cheap at H&M or Zara. I like the thrill! I bought a $10 dress at Kohl's this past summer and got a lot of compliments on it.

My go-to shops when not pregnant are Kohls, Target, Loft and Gap, though some of the Gap stuff is getting weird again and I can't fit into most of it. I'm very traditional with my clothing - khakis, sweaters, ls tee-shirts, jeans. When I buy something, I expect it to last years and I don't buy trendy stuff just because I figure in a year, I won't want to wear it anymore!

my favorite place lately is zara. you can find some great stuff at h&m too.
i order everything online so gap, j crew, anthropologie, urban outfitters, and nordstrom are the stores i shop most.

I'm obsessed with Ann Taylor (not Loft) and shop there frequently. They seem to always have 40% off sales and their clearance rack in the back is amazing. I don't ever shop at Loft. Can't seem to find anything there that I like. Which is weird, I know!
I also get a lot of my work clothes from NY and Co. (so affordable!) but I am thinking about moving away from them because their clothes don't last very long and aren't very good quality.
I have a few friends/family that sell CAbi, and I have a lot of clothes from them because of it. It is a home party clothing like. Kind of like Mary Kay, but clothes instead of makeup.

My/Our favorite place to shop is Express, Jcrew, Banana, & department stores like Nordstrom/Macy's/Parisian. I'm slooowly starting to get into online sites like Zara as well.
I'm a business casual/preppy style.

My favorite places are Francesca's, Von Maur, The Limited, and some small botiques around here. I love leggings, skinny jeans, long shirts that cover the bottom, and I own more scarfs than I can count I like to be comfy but cute at the same time.

I don't have a particular style... Though I am pretty cheap and buy most of my clothes from ross. Sometimes I buy from other places but usually only if there is a sale going on.

Lately it's been JCrew, Anthropologie, and Zara. I also like browsing at the local boutiques, because I don't live near a mall or a large department store like Target.

Oh and I'd like to add...if money was no option? I'd be in Ralph Lauren all day and night.
grape / 83 posts
@Mediagirl - oooh, if money was no object, I'd be draped in Kate Spade and Marc Jacobs all day long (a little Hervé Léger for nights out on the town)

I must be ghetto, because I love me some TJ Maxx, Loehmann's, and Old Navy. Also I am a thrift/consignment queen!

I mostly shop at Bergner's (I think it's Carson's in other parts of the country?), Macy's, Gap and Loft. I get most of my lounge-around-the-house clothes at Target.

J Crew was always my favorite, and the majority of my clothes used to come from there. I still like their style, but in my opinion their quality has gone WAY down while the prices have sky-rocketed. So these days I try to find pieces with a similar style to J Crew, but with higher quality or lower price.

I'm cheap and have no style. I usually shop at Old Navy and wear jeans, tshirts, and sneakers. I do wish I was more stylish, I just don't know how to shop!
wonderful pear / 26210 posts
@HabesBabe: me too then! I used to shop there all the time, not so much recently.
GOLD / pomelo / 5167 posts
Alot of those stores you mentioned we don't have in Canada. So I shop at low end place (because that's all I can afford and I don't want to spend that much seeing I want to lose weight)
But I shop at H&M, and Joe Fresh (now in NYC) I can also find some great deals at Old Navy (but I don't love the clothes as much (the pants never fit right)
cantaloupe / 6171 posts
most my clothes are j crew and loft (especially jeans and tank tops), with a few fun anthropologie pieces thrown in (like a couple skirts/dresses and going-out shirts). and, my sil works at this trendy little boutique so my mil will every once in awhile take me on a shopping spree there... but, really it's mostly j crew. especially for professional-looking clothes
