It takes me maybe 45 minutes each way to do the dropoff and come home again. It has a huge impact on my productivity, since I lose 1 1/2 hours every day!
What's your total commute (including dropoff + work)?

1.5 hours on the way- 1 hour on the way home (DH does pick up)
His is opposite- 45 minutes on the way, 1.5 on the way home

1 hour each way, but more like 1 hour 15 minutes in the afternoon for pick up.

I don't have drop off, but it takes me about 15-20 minutes to drive to and from work. So 30-40 minutes tops each day.

Dropoff takes about 10-15 mins (5-10 mins to daycare, 5 mins to drop off), then our drive is usually an hour.

I only do drop off in the mornings but it takes me an hour and a half (or more) from the time I leave our house until I pull into the parking lot at work.
coconut / 8472 posts
In good traffic I can do it in about a half hour. 10 minutes to daycare, 10 minutes at daycare, 10 minutes to work from there. But if the traffic is bad after I leave daycare it can be 45+ minutes. Last night we had snow and rain and traffic was awful and it took me close to 2 hours to get home plus daycare pickup :-/.

DH does drop off, so his commute is 5 mins to get to daycare, 2 minutes at drop off, 30 minutes to work. His drive home is more like 45 minutes.
My commute is 15 minutes walking, 50 minute train ride, 15 minutes walking, so 1 hour 20 minutes each way.

About 45 minutes. I leave the house at 7 and am at my desk by 7:45. DH does pick up though so that helps.

Eesh, long commutes here!
30 minutes in the AM, about 20 in the afternoon. It's only an 11 mile drive, but it takes forever to check in at the guard shack and walk all the way into my building, unfortunately.

My commute in in the morning is about 1 hour 45 minutes, and I do pick up in the evening which makes it 2 hours. It's physically and emotionally draining and has a huge impact on my productivity. We'll be moving soon and I feel like a whole new world of possibilities is opening to me with all the spare time I'll have.

20 minutes each way, 15 if no traffic, but it isn't unusual to get up to 30-40 in bad traffic.

10 minutes to drop of my son at my parents, then either 20 minutes by car or 1.5 hours via public transport depending on the location I am headed to.

@MaisyMay: 2 minute drop-off??? So jealous!!!
I leave at 7am and get to work btwn 730 and 745 - every day at drop off is different so the time varies

To work: 40 minutes (Hubs does drop-off)
From work: 50-60 minutes (traffic + pick-up)
nectarine / 2177 posts
An hour each way, plus, depending on the public transportation issues...but I will be driving starting on Monday! Which means should be much shorter, though that will include daycare dropoff, so we will see...

No drop-off for me, but it's 45 minutes each way with no traffic. So it's usually 45 mins in the morning and an hour + in the afternoon. Yuck. I listen to audio books to make it go by faster.

Drop off takes about 20 minutes, to and from. Getting to work after that on the El takes about 25-30 minutes depending upon weather, etc.

Mornings - DH does dropoffs so it's just a 20 min commute for me (15 min drive, 5-8 min walk from parking lot to building). DH takes about 45 mins door to door
Evenings - about 35 mins from door to door (5-8min walk to car, 20-25mins in car, about 5 mins at daycare)

If I drop off and pick up and I'm working from home, it's about 30 mins. If I'm picking up, but working downtown, it's about hour and 15 minutes. At this point, I wouldn't be dropping off and working downtown, because DH works 2 minutes from daycare. He does most of it, and it takes him 20 minutes to walk her to daycare and then get to work. I only pick up and drop off when there's a reason he can't!

45-50 mins in the morning. Depends on how chatty I am with her teacher.
60-90 mis on the way home. All depends on traffic

Commute to daycare: 25-30 minutes
Daycare drop off: 5 minutes
Walk to my office door: 3 minutes
pomegranate / 3272 posts
When I worked in the city, it was about 1h 15m each way between the train and walking. Now that I'm closer to home, it's about 30 min either way. Love it!
GOLD / wonderful olive / 19030 posts
20-25 minutes both ways. Daycare is 10-15 minutes from our house (&only a minute from work) and I spend 5-10 minutes getting her dropped off/picked up and situtated.

At my current job, 45 minutes (no dropoff b/c we have a nanny). At my new job, which I'll be starting in two weeks, it will be a whopping 7 minute drive. The new office and my house are off of the same major road. LO will probably start daycare in about a year, and there's two that we like between my house and my new job (off of that same major road), so it wouldn't be much longer. It's gonna be awesome!

About 20-30 minutes depending on how many stoplights I have to stop at.
Preschool is about 10 min from home, then my work is another 10-15 min from school.
honeydew / 7091 posts
Including drop off/pickup, 15 minutes. Excluding drop off/pickup, 10 minutes.

I give myself 45 minutes to get to work, and it usually takes 35, so I have ten minutes to clock in, drop my lunch in the break room, and get my desk organized for the day.
The way home can take up to an hour depending on traffic.
pear / 1879 posts
Including drop off, it takes me about an hour door-to-door each way. The way home is often a bit longer.
nectarine / 2878 posts
30 minutes each way. We are looking to move next year and I am hoping to cut that down to 20, every little bit counts.

I am officially based in our London office which is a three hr commute each way but I mostly work from Birmingham, which is 1hr 30mins each way including drop off/pick up. I go down to London around once per week.

There is an expensive toll road ($6 each way) that I can take to and from work which cuts 30 minutes off my commute each way. I try to only take it one way each day. Usually take the longer route in the morning (60-80 minutes) and the toll road on the way home (45 minutes) including daycare pickup and dropoff.
coconut / 8234 posts
To work: 45 minutes, which includes a 15-20-minute walk to childcare, talking with our nanny, and then heading to work.
Home: 15-20 minutes since DH does pick-up.

I don't do drop offs yet, and hoping they won't add time to my commute, or much time at least. It's an average of 1 hour each way.
coconut / 8483 posts
I work from home and go to the office on friday. Going to the office is about an hour if the weather is ok. Small town = country driving! So never any traffic, just weather issues. No one to drop off anywhere yet!
