This post is going to be a little all over the place....
My son (18 wks) has his first cold. So far it isn't too bad - he is congested when he lies down but ok when he is upright, and no fever.
We started sleep training a few night ago & he still cries quite a bit - last night he went to sleep okay but woke after 45 min, cried for 30 min, back to sleep and up again with some minimal crying a couple more times. I now think those extra wake ups were due to him coming down with this cold, because usually after one wakeup he is down until feeding at 3/4am.
So I have a few questions. Sleep training should stop until he's better, right? He's so spluttery and congested, I can't add crying into that mix! For naps I've been letting him sleep on me. This week he's had shots, he's sprouted two teeth, been sleep trained and now has this cold - the kid needs some cuddles, I think.
Also, what have you done for colds? My heart breaks for him as it's the first time he's been sick. What do you do for your sad & congested babies?
Thanks for any advice you have
