I never felt any kind of crazy instinct/energy/drive to clean, etc. with the twins--maybe because I was so exhausted and uncomfortable. I would reeeeeeaaaaally like that to kick in at some pint this time because my house is a wreck and the nursery still looks like a guest bedroom with no signs of an upcoming baby, except some boxes of diapers. At 30 weeks and change, I'm starting to think I just don't have a nesting instinct.
When did you feel an instinct to "nest"?

The first time around, I didn't feel it until really late - maybe 36 weeks? If at all?
This time, I'd say I started feeling it around 30 weeks, but it was mild. It's gotten stronger though and now at 35 weeks, I find myself cleaning and organizing like crazy!

I felt like I 'should' be doing stuff from about 20 weeks but now at 29 weeks I've been feeling really irritable about nesting type stuff for about 3 weeks now, so about 26 weeks.

I didn't really do any huge nesting. But the day I went into labour I went on a crazy cleaning spree.

Definitely by 3rd trimester. 1st trimester I just didn't feel good, 2nd trimester I felt pretty good so I was just busy living life, but then it hit me that it's for real and esp after the baby shower I have been nesting like crazy!

Just the past week or so for me - so 31-ish weeks. Last time it didn't start until later, like a few weeks before DD was born.

I started nesting around 20 weeks, but it kicked in hardcore once I hit 30 weeks. It wasn't always baby things, I remember being obsessed with getting my pantry cabinet arranged just so and I just HAD to get the tub sparkling clean with no soap scum (it was really bad from the former owner).

Kicked in the morning I went into labor with DD. I HAD to hang shelves before we went to the hospital.
Nothing yet at 33 weeks with this one.
I kind of nest for a living though.

Maybe I am a bit weird but it started for me a couple weeks ago...around 15 weeks! I have to have everything done a specific way and I am driving my SO nuts, also increased the number of times we have the cleaner come in a month

I had a burst of nesting to set up the nursery after each anatomy scan. Which I think was really just being excited about knowing the gender.
In the last couple weeks (I'm 31w or so now) I've started to go crazy on house/organization/decorating projects that need to be done, and freezer cooking. I think I'm desperate to get things done before the holidays get crazy, and before I start feeling bad at the end.

@bhbee: That's how I feel. I know I NEED to get stuff done now because the holiday chaos will be setting in, but I just don't know how or when to do it! My mom is coming next week to help me tackle a bunch of freezer cooking, though. I can call that nesting, right?!?

@Mrs. Blue: oh yeah, that counts! my mom was just here too. I had a loooong list for us to tackle. it was not relaxing at all even though she came to help - but it did help me feel like things were more under control! with baby #1 I could do all the crazy stuff myself . . . I was on my hands and knees caulking our apartment kitchen and bath to keep out bugs (of which I had seen maybe 2) at like 39 weeks 
DH is complaining because I am pushing him to do everything on my list too . . . for example I want the Christmas lights up this weekend so we can turn them on Dec 1! (will be traveling in between) I'd like to pretend we'll all benefit when things are completed but really I'll probably just think of more stuff . . .

I don't know if it's a nesting instinct or just my personality, but I've been feeling like I want to get the room done and am really excited that it will be mostly painted this weekend (I'm 25 weeks). I never want to clean, but I do remember toward the end of my pregnancy with Liam that I was kind of on edge about the house being perfectly clean. I'm pretty sure we had someone come and clean for us, though.

Never felt it with my daughter. Now I want to nest, but only when I'm at work and can't. By the time I get home and get dinner ready/daughter to bed, I just want to sit.

I've had bursts here and there..... but I'm def feeling it at @36weeks, I want everything ready, and done...which most is.
My biggest fear is the house not being clean when I go into labor...lol

I can't really remember last time - I think I had a little spurt around 20 weeks but no real urges until the third tri.
This time wanted to do everything around 30w but had to take it easy so nothing really got done until my mom could help at 34w and now I have crazy instincts but the same problem of not being able to do too much b/c of early contractions. I started ordering a bunch of shit off Amazon around 34w as well Once I hit 36w watch out!

@FaithFertility: hi lady! can't believe your little one is almost here!!
I also wanted my house clean for labor (more so, coming home to a clean house). that sort of turned into a mess when I labored at home until my water broke . . . all over the couch. poor DH had to come home and wash everything (luckily all could zip off) when LO was 1 day old!
