At what age did tantrums peak? Our 3.5 year old has been so emotional and has at least one major tantrum a day. Just curious when it got crazy for you?

I won't vote since she's only 2.5 but so far they haven't been too bad. But now you've got me scared for what's to come!!

Not too bad at 25 months but getting worse. Mostly refusing the walk and laying on the ground and saying she's sleeping in public

I feel 2 years old was easy. Then we hit 3 and had major tantrums and pushing of boundaries for a month or two. It is easing up as we near the 3.5 mark, phew!

Can tonight be my answer? Meltdown city over here. He just turned 17 months old and I'm scared!

I voted 2.5 before I read the whole question. Tantrums really started in earnest around 2.5. Probably peaked closer to 3, but honestly 2.5-3.5 was extremely difficult. No coincidence, I had a second baby around when she turned 2.5 and then she had a slew of ear infections.

My kiddo is only almost-3 but there was a distinct change in the severity/length of tantrums around 2.5. they've stayed pretty consistent since then.

I think they started revving up around 2.5, but they have been TERRIBLE since January. He just turned 3 in March, so I guess between 2.5-3. They were happening multiple times, daily for long periods for the 3 or so months before he turned 3. Right around his birthday they got a little better.

For my oldest they got real bad at 18 months, and we're on and off bad until... well they still are at 4.

I have a 22mo and a 4 year old. Both started around 18 mo. I would say their tantrums today are equal in intensity but LO2 has many more. LO2 has about three 10-15 min lay down kicking and screaming tantrums a day at home.

3 to 3.5 was bad for LO 2. Lots of whining and tantrums. Still happens but not as bad!

My kids seem to "peak" young. With my first, Tantrums really started around 18m and got progressively worse until 2.5 or 3. By 3.5 he was was much more mellow and 4-5 has been pretty easy. My second is 28 months and at the peak of tantrums right now.

My 1st never really had them. Maybe for a short spurt around 2, but it didn't last long and wasn't often.
Ds2 has a temper. Peaked right out of the gate at 18m. He's 21 months now and it's already improved a little bit, as his communication gets a little better.

2 to 4 was bad for us. It got a little bit better after 4, not as many but the ones he had were doozys. Now at 5 he has one occasionally but we are usually able to head it off or talk him down.
