Our seat is fine to use until 22 lbs or when her head is an inch from the top of the seat. She's 7 months now and still fits comfortably in it. I know plenty of people around here who keep theirs in the infant seat until a year since they don't hit the weight or height limits yet.

Our LO is 9 months (small 9 months) and she's still in it but we have ordered her next one and will switch to that one then!

We just switched at about 7.5 months...he was pretty tall and looking scrunched in his infant seat, and we had just bought a car and would be taking multiple road trips in the near future. plus we wanted to give the seat to my sister, who is due in August. He definitely looks more comfy in the convertible!

16 months and haven't switched! Our height limit is 32" so we still have another inch. But we should get on it.

We switched at 8 months. I wanted to keep her in the bucket through winter b/c it was so much easier to keep her warm with the cover.

we switched at 7 months. he was getting pretty tall and we figured it was time. also, my parents happened to be in town and we wanted to store the old one with them. he seems to really like the convertible seat though, looks more comfortable. we also kept the additional head support for him, which he uses like a neck pillow. it's adorable.

We switched at around 6.5 months. He still fits in the infant seat, but he's really squished and it was a struggle to get him and out of it.

Ours was fine to use until 30 lbs, but we switched to a convertible when he was about 18 lbs (~8 months) because LO was getting way too heavy to tote around in it, and his legs were hanging over the edge.

around 4 months I think, he is a solid baby and hated the seat. He was too heavy to carry in it anyways. He definitely preferred the convertible (we switched right before a 5 hour road trip as well!)

Honestly my son doesn't seem to like the upright much more. He sleeps fine in both but if he's not sleeping he is bored and gets mad. I switched him at 12 months - he was small, 18 lbs and 29 inches. I kind of think the bucket was better bc he would sometimes continue sleeping in the seat when we arrived at our destination - definitely the case at 4 months! You don't have that choice with an upright.

We switched at 9 months. DD was getting close to the height limit. We took a 2000 mile road trip when she was 4 months to move halfway across the country. We did that all with the infant seat, and it was quite comfortable for her I think! She did great on the trip and slept well in her carseat.
