M is just about 14 months and it's been so hot we've finally stopped layering the onesies! But I think once it gets colder we might start layering onesies again. We'll see since I bought some 24 month onesies cheap. 
When did you stop layering with onesie?

We stopped for the summer because my lo runs HOT. We will probably start again come fall/winter. We just got a pack of gently used ls 18mo onesies from our neighbor.

I just recently stopped, but had only been doing it because she would scratch her belly and back if it was bare. She doesn't seem to do that anymore. I still hate the way a diaper looks hanging out of her bottoms, but oh well!

We used onesies as an underlayer for a long time, like over 2 years old. I just don't like the way the shirts and pants move around and you see uncovered back.
I had to get those extenders that you snap into the crotch to make the 24 month ones work, lol.

@looch: haha which ones did you get? We have so many onesies that are still so new and fit except lengthwise. I just can't stomach buying the One Step Ahead for the pricing!

@regberadaisy: I got a pack on amazon, they have three different sizes of the snaps, which was (in hindsight) a waste, because i was using the same one over and over again.

@regberadaisy: Ohhh...got it. Hee hee... FTM brain fart. Now that it's summer, if I put him in a t-shirt and shorts, I don't put a onesie on. It never came up before the summer, but I imagine we'll layer in the winter.

I never layered a onesie under LO's clothes on a regular basis (only when its cold and we'll be outside for an extended period of time). I had no idea people did this.

@Bluebonnet: I only knew about it because all the "old school" moms, like my mom, my MIL, and our nanny have asked me, "Why doesn't she have a onesie on under this?" I only did it when it was really cold out, but LO sweats a lot so I don't see the need.

LO still layers, and it's summer over here! Her building is air conditioned, and she gets cold easily too. But when we were in Cuba, we never layered her outfits!

I've never done it. He either wears a onesie with pants or shirt & pants/shorts.
