M is 16.5 months and has shown interest in my chopsticks. Wondering what other parents have done?
When did you introduce a pair of training chopsticks to LO?
Obviously I don't expect her to learn how to use them. But I'd rather her "learn" with a child sized pair of chopsticks than adult ones!

Lala has been using regular chopsticks for about a year. We never got training ones for her.

T has been using the kids chopsticks since he was about 18 months, he has some issues with fine motor so he's just stuck with them. I should probably try regular ones again now though!
Eta: he just played with them a lot when he started, but by about 2 he was using them properly. I decided to not do my dad's guerrilla tactic of making him ONLY use chopsticks! Love my dad but that was tough!

Lo will be 14 months in a few days so I decided to give him some just for fun. I figured it couldn't hurt, I found some cheap and cute ones from Diaso.

@locavore_mama: she started at around 2.5. Her technique isn't perfect, as she crosses them to make them work for her tiny self. I have a picture of her doing it successfully the first time. At that point she had to use her second hand to lift them into her mouth. If I have time I'll upload it.

I picked up a pair at Daiso this week too! LO is still too young but I figured I would get prepared so this thread is super helpful!

LO is 2, and I should bring out the training pair that I bought him last year. He might be ready to try them out.

@locavore_mama: Daiso is a Japanese version of a dollar store except everything is $1.50. I would love to send your LO some trainer chopsticks. I bought a ton of extras. Just send me your address on my wall.

We have some cute training chopsticks too but i think we'll wait until she's 3. I don't think i learned to use regular chopsticks until i was about 4.
