I was induced at 40w with #1. I was 5 cm and never had a natural contraction!
I'm 38 weeks with #2, and nothing yet!

@Running Elley: can you tell I'm kind of obsessed with having this baby?
papaya / 10560 posts
Ditto! I am soooo paranoid with this one, I swear I keep thinking my water will break any second! Is that ridiculous or what considering I am 25 weeks!
eggplant / 11287 posts
@Running Elley: I have an induction date set for December 2nd, so at least I know there's a definite end in sight!

@matador84: my doctor told me that I would have the baby early if I kept breastfeeding. My whole pregnancy I was afraid that I would spontaneously burst into labor...even at 25 weeks!! But, here I am....still nursing and still pregnant!

Well, you already know but I'll post for others!
#1, I was 1 cm dilated, 75% effaced at 39 weeks and delivered on my due date
#2, I wasn't dilated, 50% effaced at 39 weeks, induced on due date for high blood pressure
ETA: I was in labor for 6 hours with my first but pushed for 3 hours (so 9 total) and 3 with my second (then labored down for an hour and pushed for 15 minutes)

38 weeks + 4 days with my first. I was in labor for over 24 hours. 39 weeks + 1 day with my second, and I was in labor for less than 4 hours!

Ok. I'm going crazy. I'm considering walking on the treadmill. Haha!!

#1: naturally at 40 weeks 2 days.
#2: I breastfed my entire pregnancy, was 3cm 90% at 36 weeks, induced at 39 weeks 4 days. I'm pretty sure he would have chilled until my due date or beyond if we let him come naturally.
papaya / 10560 posts
@Rainbow Sprinkles: That is amazing! I wish I could have continued breastfeeding, but I totally dried up when he was a little over a year and I was a few months pregnant. Those first year molars scare me anyway!

@Rainbow Sprinkles: I feel your pain, girl!! I could barely get out of bed and I freaking waddled everywhere. so much pain in the vag and bod! Contractions every single night too.

@Rainbow Sprinkles: My doctor wants to schedule an induction for late next week at my appt tomorrow so the end in sight is definitely helping!!!! Butttt apparently it's not helping enough

@Rainbow Sprinkles: No link?? I'm curious!!! Chances are...my vote will probably be yes and that I will be making them tomorrow too. And I don't have any clue what you're talking about yet!

@Rainbow Sprinkles: my older brother was one week early and I was one week late!

@Running Elley: fixed it!!! This same recipe came up like ten times when I googled "labor inducing cookies." #imcrazy

@Rainbow Sprinkles: start squatting!! Not the the exercise kind, but the deep, kimchi-esque ones. I did that for about an hour while pulling weeds and picking up dog poo in the yard on the day that I finally went into labor. I swear by it now!

Following..this is interesting!
@Running Elley: How long was your first labor? I am loving all the short labors but I had a really long first one so my view is definitely skewed!
pomegranate / 3329 posts
First = 35 weeks with a terrifyingly long 5 days stuck in the hospital labor.
Second = induction at 40+1, 8 hours in labor, 1.5 hours pushing
All kinds of preterm issues with that one, continual contractions with progression, mag sulfate, bedrest and still inducrd!
Third = 39+3, 8 hours again (counting at home, 4 if only counting at L&D), pushed for 1 hour. More ptl with that one, but no induction!

@googly-eyes: My water broke with my first but contractions never started. From the start of pitocin to when I started pushing was 7 hours and I pushed for less than 30 minutes. I was also already progressed to a 4 and completely effaced before my water broke though so that may have had something to do with it? This time I just want to make sure I get to the hospital!
@Rainbow Sprinkles: I will definitely be making those tomorrow after my OB appt. While they are baking ill be doing squats @BabyBoecksMom!!
GOLD / pomelo / 5737 posts
@Running Elley: oh that's a pretty quick first labor! I can see why short second labors sound scary especially with being so close to #2! If it makes you any more reassured I didn't go in til 8cm, made it, and got an epi within 45m. @sorrycharlie had a similar experience with a late epi. I cannot believe you're almost there!!!
coconut / 8681 posts
@googly-eyes: That actually makes me feel a LOT better!! The epi must happen and that's why I was so worried! Pheww
