We haven't done it yet -- we're putting it in our "family" car and it needs to be cleaned first.....rather, DH needs to clean it first. I'll be 35 weeks this weekend and think it's about time I start pestering him....

I'm 38wks+5days and we haven't yet. Mainly because we've been using the car for daily trips to the new house. Being stuffed each trip with stuff being moved over. So it needs a really good cleaning now before we install the base.

We installed ours the weekend I turned 36 weeks, so it's ready! I wanted it in a bit early so we could take to a carseat check before baby girl arrives, but we have yet to do that. So I'm hoping it can be done next week sometime!

We installed it as soon as it was delivered, I think around 30 weeks, because we had no place better to put it!

Installing it takes literally 2 mins. So even if I were to go into labour, my husband would go home and install it (seeing he sleeps at home and not at the hospital)

We installed it at like 35 or 36 weeks. I wanted time to make sure it was secure and get it checked out. And its a good thing we did, because apparently our car doesnt have a center LATCH system and we were using LATCH to connect it.

I think we installed it at 36 weeks. We didn't plan on installing it that early, but we got bored one night.

@looch: Yes! We installed ours at around 32 weeks, mainly because it was taking up so much room in the nursery closet! I'm glad we did it early though because we wanted to have it checked by a pro, and we couldn't get an appointment for 2 weeks.

I am 38 weeks, and am being induced Tuesday, the car seat is currently in its packaging in the front entrance, we are going to clean the car and install it this weekend.

It was like 37 weeks, I think. We had the car seat tech do it at our last birthing class.

We installed the base in my car around 36 weeks because we knew that was the car we'd most likely be using with the LO.

We installed ours earlier this week at 36 weeks. DH can have the safety check done at work so we figured this would give him plenty of time/shifts to remember to have someone to check it out.

I'll put it on the to-do list for stuff to do in the next "couple" of weeks. Poor DH has too much on his list these days ; )

Was anyone able to get it installed/checked by pros that allowed a seat mat to protect the seat? I heard you can't have them, but we plan to use it. It works with latch system..but wondering if we would go home and put it under after being shown how to install, or go with it under the base already?

We're going to put the bases in at 36 weeks. We have our birthing classes at that point and are hoping they'll have someone who can check them there. If not, we will go to the local fire station and get it done.

@mediagirl: Our instruction manual for the car seat allows for a towel under it, so we're going to put a yoga mat under the base. I saw the brica base: http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=11290850&fromRegistryNumber=47836956&product_skn=625994
and it literally looks like a yoga mat, cut into a special shape. I plan to buy a regular yoga mat to fit under the base.
