Someone sat down and taught them all to me when I was really young. I immediately used them in conversation with my parents, and quickly learned that that was a bad idea!

I was reminded of this because yesterday my son told me, "I know a bad word that has I-T in it." Bee and I looked at each other and were both thinking the same thing - oh s***. I braced myself and asked him, "What is the word?" And he said, "Idiot." He sounded it out for us: "ih-dee-it!"

Haha! Guess kids don't learn the "seven dirty words" as early as they used to!! Makes sense because when I was a kid, all the neighborhood kids hung out unsupervised in mixed-age groups. Now kids seem to mostly hang out supervised with their immediate peers. I'm sure he'll come home with a list of dirty words pretty soon anyway though.

When did you learn all the swear words?
