My LO just turned one and she still uses a sleep sack. We let her have her lovey blanket but that's it. I'm curious when others started letting their LO sleep with a blanket at night and what type of blanket did you use?

We let her have an A&A muslin blanket around 18 months maybe?

We let DD1 have a comforter when she was 15 months. We moved her into her new room and it's cold in there! I have been covering her in a blanket for naps for months though so she's used to sleeping with one.

She hates being covered with a blanket so she doesn't usually have one even at 18 months.

@petunia354: not bad! We did 6 months with an AA blanket with permission from his doctor. He was rolling around, could pull thongs from his face and they're super breathable. If she had said no, I would have waited.

Probably around 15 months or so, I think? He would use the sleepsack, but still have a blanket (comforter). He's 22 months now and we officially ditched the sleep sack as of two days ago, since he kept taking it completely off. Just the blanket now

14 months or so, I think. She's still in a sleep sack and the blanket doesn't stay on, but she loves being covered up with it.

We use the knitted/ crocheted blankets with holes in them or A&A blankets starting very early. Neither girl put up with a swaddle or sleep sack past a few months. DD1 got a comforter, little pillow, and a toddler bed at 18 months.

LO1: AA dream blanket around 10 months. His room was always freezing, even with the heater, so he had a sleep sack and blanket.
LO2: is 15 months and doesn't sleep with a blanket. But that's mostly because her room is warm, even with the heater off.

She sleeps with a blanket (since about 16 months) but doesn't actually cover herself with it. It's a knit blanket, so there are plenty of 'breathing' holes.

angel dear lovie around 8 months and probably the full sized angel dear blanket around a year. He just would cuddle it.

Probably around 16 months? I would have felt comfortable by a year but she's a summer baby and it didn't get cold until she was over a year. Her room is always cold now so she has two fleecy blankets (though rarely is she still covered in the morning). She also had a little comforter in there now but shed rather use it as a pillow.

My 1 yo still sleeps with a sleep sack. I think a blanket is fine by now but if it isn't broken...
I'm pretty sure I gave my 2.5 yo a blanket by now, but we skipped the sleep sack with him.

25 months? It was the first time she wanted one- and she's still in a sleep sack too

My LO is almost three and still wears a sleep sack. Not gonna lie--I would too if they made them in my size. Seems so cozy. We let her have a blanket in the crib around 18 months. She is a summer baby so it wasn't cold before then.

Not yet (14 months). My mom thinks it's cruel that her crib is completely empty.

We started using a blanket with DD when we did her big girl bed transition at 20 months.
DS is 25 months and still in a sleepsack and crib.

Starting around a year, we let her bring an A&A into the crib for naps if she is clinging to it and doesn't want to let go. She uses one at daycare for naps, too. But still no blanket at night, she's 15 months. She does have a rotating menagerie of stuffed animals in there, though. We let her have an Angel Dear lovey at 6 months and she gradually added to the stash as she got older (probably about 10 months on?).

At about 18 months. I wanted to get her used to it before we stopped the sleep sack. At 24 months, she actually wants to sleep with her sleep sack + a blanket or two. We use an A&A Dream Blanket + a Little Giraffe blanket on top (in the winter).

We talked to the NP at his 9-month appointment, and she was confident he would be fine with a blanket (not a comforter, but a standard baby blanket). He's large for his age so he was more the size of a 12- to 13-month-old. So we've gave him one and he's been fine for 6 weeks. He's growing attached to the blankie, which I was hoping would happen.

A decent sized minky lovey at 6 months and a minky blanket around 9-10 months. Naps only at first. At first it was tucked in but now it's out and she looooves sleeping all wrapped up in it. It does make me a little nervous but she's finally sttn!!!!! I constantly put the blanket on her head playing peek-a-boo during the day to make sure she can always get out!

At around 10 months, we let them take a little blanket into the crib as a lovey...my twins are now 25 months and neither one seems to get the concept of keeping a blanket over their body to stay warm, so they are still in sleep sacks, just using the small blankets as more of a comfort item.

26 months for both kids when we transitioned to a bed and a sleep sack until then. olive still kicks hers off (3 1/2), but since 5 Charlie has been pretty good about sleeping under the blankets.

At 23 months she still doesn't have one. She was in a sleep sack until 18 months and we transitioned away from that when it got hot here. It has been too hot for anything. Once it cools I will give her a blanket.
