We just transitioned DS to a twin bed. He's 2 yrs, 2 months, 19 days. But who's counting?
With #2 coming in July we decided to switch DS even though he's never tried climbing out. One of many transitions to come... Fx it goes smoothly!

We switched when B started climbing out, a little before he turned 2.

We put lo in a big girl bed at 19 months, she wasn't climbing out of the crib or anything but we had set her bed up in her room when we moved in about 2 months before (so she could get used to it) and she seemed to prefer climbing into bed for bedtime so we randomly tried it one night and didn't have any issues.

My 2.5 year old is still in her crib. She doesn't try to climb out (hooray, sleep sacks!) but she's started trying to climb IN to her sister's crib. Transitioning is on my to-do list for spring, but I need to get furniture secured to the wall before I'm willing to give her the run of the room at night.

3 months before 3 years, we also needed the crib for LO2. He had never tried to climb out so we probably could have kept him in there a few more moths.

We used a toddler rail shortly before he turned 2, and then we transitioned to floor bed at 2.5 years old. We needed the crib for LO2. He did well initially, but it took a long time for his to fully adjust. Hope your LO slept well last night!

@yin: HE STTN! Hallelujah! FX that it's not a fluke!
So we have a twin bed in a set that doesn't require a box spring and a heck of time finding one. So we are using pool noodles underneath the sheet! Worked well And saved money on a $70 rail that I found online that MIGHT work for us.

We just did this weekend at 2 years, 4 months. We are in the process of working on his big boy room when he climbed out of his crib on Friday. DH took the front of his crib off and put the rail up while we try to figure out when we can finish his big boy room!
So far, he is fine at night and just gets up in the morning, but naps are a mess. He just walks around his room and does anything except sleep.

Soon, probably. I want to wait for a 3 day weekend, though! I need to get her out of the crib before she turns 3 in June. We have travel plans this summer and I don't want to be worrying about cribs.

Our 2.5 year old is still in his crib. We'll move him out of his crib when we move or soon after LO #2's arrival. He sleeps on a cot at preschool, so he's used to it, just haven't done it at home.

A month ago so she was about 2 years and 2 months. It was rough at first, but it was short lived and she is doing really well. @2PeasinaPod: as I said, it was a really rough first 2 weeks, but she got the hang of it. Rewards reallllly helped (stamp on hand and fruit snacks after she woke up from naps)

@Tidybee: Ugh...I hope so. I just got finished putting him back down for the 3rd time.

@mrsjyw: How is the transition going?? DD is 25 months and baby 2 is arriving in July too. Planning on converting her crib to a toddler bed tomorrow! I'm scared! Haha!

@dolphin: knock on wood, it's gone really well. He's sleeping just like he was in the crib. Rolls around in the morning until we get him (per usual) and yells for me (or my mom) after nap!

Glad it's going well for you! Liam is still in his crib and he'll be 3 at the end of March. He has never climbed out and we got a nice, cheap, used crib for baby 2, so we are waiting until he's 3.5, probably.
