After registering this past week - I feel pretty bad and almost like a bad parent because my husband and I have yet to buy anything for the baby. I feel like - "well I am only 22 weeks along" but when you think about it that's half way through! When did you start to buy things for your baby?

I'm 22 weeks, too. The first thing I bought for the baby was a cute purple outfit once we found out the sex at 20 weeks. My MIL bought our crib this morning and I bought a car seat yesterday because I was feeling behind on baby shopping.
One of my friends is 3 weeks behind me and has been shopping since week 11!

Geez! Now I feel really horrible! I do have to say I have 1 onesie and a stuffed elephant.. but nothing that is BIG!
I better get on it!

Er... I'm TTC, and I buy baby stuff when I'm feeling VERY down. Like today, I picked up newborn kimono tops (my cat is missing. I bawled after the last phone call about him.)

we haven't even started the ttc phase yet, and i want to buy baby stuff! every time i'm in target i'm drawn like a moth to those adorable leggings and onesies. i'm going to be in trouble when i get that first BFP... sayonara paychecks!

I think we started around 16 weeks or so with clothing ... but it was January, and there were tons of onesies and such on clearance at Old Navy for like $2, so we couldn't help ourselves. We held off on gear, for the most part, until after showers were over. And then went on a spree on Amazon. (Resist the temptation to buy everything at Babies 'R' Us! Way more expensive, usually!)

We didn't buy too much until after the shower. I wanted to see what other people would buy us first.

We are 27 wks, and the only thing I have bought is a hat! We have NOTHING.... I'm hoping that next month we will get our nursery furniture!

The fist time I don't think I really bought anything before she was born... This time I am sure I will buy stuff as soon as I find out what we are having

I bought some cloth diapers during the first trimester, because they were on sale. I didn't buy anything else until the second trimester, but even then it has just been a few onsies on super sale, and a couple things I got for free (shipping only). Oh, I guess we bought a rocking chair at 16 weeks, because it was on sale as well), We are trying to hold out on other purchases until after Christmas, and then after the shower (still to be determined when that will be).

I'm 23 weeks and the ONLY thing I've bought so far is a few cloth diapers... and really that's only because I wanted them so bad I couldn't wait any longer. lol
I don't really plan on getting too much until after the shower.... Then we'll see what we need to get. Pretty sure that's how I did it the first go round too. =)

I'm bad... I bought stuff right after bfp. Like, the next day. But I started buying the big stuff after we found out gender. Don't be like me and hold off on buying a crib mattress too long though, I ended up on hospital bed rest and had to order it all online. Bad idea!

We bought nursery furniture around week 28. Everything else we waited to buy until after my shower at 32 weeks.

I think we started once I was 24 weeks, I wanted to pass the viability mark and since we had a lot to do, I wanted time on my side!

Boxing Day shopping will be our first baby purchases. I'll be almost 21 weeks then. It has more to do with the time of year and the fact that we'll be travelling down in the 'big city' so we'll want to take advantage of the shopping opportunities.
I must admit that I'm starting to want to buy things now (18 weeks). Like, even a cloth diaper would make me really happy.

I'm hitting the 25 week mark, and we just bought our crib. We haven't even started our registry yet...just another thing on our "to do" list. I figured we will prob do it in January, just in time for our shower at the end of Feb.

I'm 24 weeks, and all that I have technically purchased is a set of 6 BumGenius diapers. People have started gifting us a few things though. My mother-in-law sent a huge box of baby clothes last week, my mom bought us a set of purple baby shoes, and one of my friends gave us an adorable owl toy from Skip Hop. We might buy some more stuff over the holidays, and I'm also pretty sure my parents are getting me my breast pump for Christmas. Not the most glamorous gift, but it's very useful!
Mostly I'm waiting until after our baby shower, which will happen around week 30. I would rather see what people gift us and then fill in what's missing.

My husband and I started buying little things here and there last year...this year, before we even started TTC we purchased our crib, dresser/changing table, a ladder style shelf (estate sale!) and I have clothes and decorations from friends. We also have a brand new travel stroller and carseat. We are pretty much set with all the big purchases. Lot's of people said it would be bad luck, but to be honest, it feels SO good not to have to worry about those things while I'm pregnant. We are not 6 1/2 weeks pregnant

i'm 22 weeks too and haven't really purchased anything for the baby. i think i'll wait until after my shower so i can see what i'll need. =T

DH and I decided that once we conceive, we will make a list of must-haves and buy one major item each month and budget for other small things. We don't want to burden anyone at the shower for the big ticket items, so we plan saving up for that and buying it ourselves.

Just bought the crib/changer combo (and mattress), and will be 29 weeks tomorrow when we pick up the crib from the store. YAY! Then i guess I'll start to shop for some other big stuff--like stroller/car seat combo soon.
And maybe the diaper bag/stuff for the hospital soon. Then diapers and clothes. Fun! -
I caved and found a great deal on sleep sacks so I bought them. I'm TTC and not pregnant yet. I told myself I was going to wait but it was such a good deal.
