It seems most ladies report getting bloated/wider before actually showing, so I guess I mean something distinct.

I think 12-13 weeks or even 14 weeks is when I knew I was showing and not just bloated.

I am 17 1/2 weeks and I feel like just in the last couple weeks it has started to look like a baby bump and not just bloating. I saw my family at 15 weeks and they all said that I wasn't even showing. I can still suck in my stomach though, so I still don't think that I have fully popped yet.

@Smurfette: Holy moly! I also can't believe you're so far along So are you still in regular clothes? When did you start needing the belly band?
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@JoJoGirl: me neither! Almost at the halfway point. Crazy!

Around 10-12 weeks, probably was still bloating, but it was enough that I had to hide it until I announced it at work at 12 weeks.
Showing showing, probably 15 ish weeks? We went on a plane trip and the security guy ushered me to the regular Metal detector and said, "you're over here, mom." Which, incidentally, made me tear up.

@autumnlove: What about with your first?
@ladyfingers: Aww Was the bloating enough you needed a belly band? I'm partially asking so I can a) plan ahead and b) not feel bad I'm definitely widening up already at 8 weeks

I think like 16/17 weeks was when I noticed a curve in my stomach. Of course, looking back, now I can't believe that I thought THAT was a bump, compared to the masssive baby bump I have now!

I had bloat and couldn't wear normal clothes at 8 weeks. But I think it was a true mini bump at 12 weeks. I showed early as I'm petite and have a short torso. Strangers guessed I was pregnant at 15 weeks.

@JoJoGirl: With my first, I didn't start showing until after 20 weeks. My stomach looked a little chubby around 15 weeks but I wore a lot of dresses!

@JoJoGirl: I started wearing a belly band around 8-10 weeks. I couldn't stand the bloat any more with work pant, especially. Started with maternity pants around 12-13 weeks. Don't be shy, it is so much more comfortable!

I'm 5'2 -- wore bella band around 8 weeks and full on maternity pants at 12 weeks!

@JoJoGirl: Yep! I was in a bella band by 8 weeks and maternity jeans at 10. No shame! I'm also 5'3", for the record

I should take a photo and have you ladies tell me if I'm obviously pregnant or not. I feel like I am, but I'm not sure. 17 1/2 weeks here, and no one has said anything so I'm not sure.

I wore my regular pants until 12 weeks. And even at the point I started wearing maternity pants just because they were more comfortable, I could still fit in my regular pants if I wanted to. I would say I was probably somewhere between 16 and 18 weeks before I was definitely pregnant looking. And these days, so many people are overweight that honestly I think a lot of strangers probably sill assumed I was just chunky.

I had people patting my belly at week 11. It was pretty bloaty, but there nonetheless. Since week 10 or 11, it's been pretty obvious that I'm pregnant. I think i had two weeks of just looking chunky and went right into a baby bump. I'm round and all kinds of out there at week 16 now. And it's not like I was big to begin with, so uh...yeah. It happens. Embrace it
The belly band was nice for about 3 weeks. My pants kept falling down, though, and it got to a point where I just wore a ton of dresses for two weeks and then just switched right to maternity pants. At least they stayed up on my butt.
PS i think you'll show earlier because you're slender, too.

I'm 14.5 weeks and while it's somewhat noticeable to DH and me, no one else can tell. I'm wearing some maternity pants because some of my dress pants have ceased to be able to button, but today I'm wearing my regular jeans and they still fit fine (they are a little big when I'm not pregnant, so that helps!). I think at the moment I just look a little thicker but I don't have a discernible bump. I'm 5'10", so I think that probably means it will take longer for me to really show. I guess time will tell though.

I would say I was noticeable to family and friends at around 18 weeks.
To the general public, I would say about 25 weeks was when people started noticing.

probably around 18 weeks for me - and then he has been growing in a major way ever since (i'm 25 weeks now!)

I had major bloat starting at 8 weeks with #2
Definitely looked pregnant.
With #1 I didn't have a pooch until maybe 12-13 weeks?
grapefruit / 4006 posts
I noticed a pooch starting on week 12. But I fit into my pants until week 18 and people didn't notice until week 21-22.

By 15 weeks strangers were asking me when I was due. I think it was pretty obvious at that point. I could tell the bump was there around 10-11 weeks and was in maternity pants at that point because I couldn't stand anything touching my belly. I'm tall, but VERY short-waisted.
